We purchased this mattress because we wanted at least 180 coils in the mattress, and this one was cheaper than the rest, plus we can flip it over when she is a toddler and continue to use the mattress! We've been using it for about a week, and haven't seen any problems.
When I was looking into crib mattress I had this mattress shipped to my local Walmart so I could compare it to the other mattress I was looking at. With a newborn the experts say a exrta firm mattress is best for newborns. We compared the firmness of this mattress to the four other mattress and this was the firmest of them all. There is a thick support edge rod that makes the edge stiffer than all the other mattress. Plus on the other side is a toddler side which wasn't as firm for a more comfortable sleeping mattress for a older kid. With a 25 year rating this mattress should hold up to take it from a newborn bed to the end of the toddler stage. The firmness of the infant side and the ability to flip the mattress was what sold us over all the others with not that much higher in price than the others. The fit into our AGF Nadia crib was perfect. By the way we returned the other mattress at the Site to Store with no trouble and received a refund that same day to my account.
The Babymod - Emilie 242 coil crib mattress was the best one for the money. It will take the baby through until it is time for a Twin bed. The 25 year warrenty will help it last through more than one baby. Being able to have it picked up in Vestal, NY was a GOD send. I'm always able to find what I want at Walmart...
I love that it's 2 in 1. Great price, especially when having to buy two. I've had these going on two years and have had no rips, tears, etc. No problems at all!!!
I was very unsure if this matress would be worth the purchase since it was our first, however; it is well worth it. My 2 1/2 month old slept in his crib for the 1st time the whole night with out a problem. We also don't have to worry about purchasing another becuase it flips over to a toddler bed. We didn't want anything real hard yet too soft.
I purchased this for my daughter who is expected in a month. After doing a lot of research I found this one to good without going overboard with the price. It fits great in the crib and looks and feel just right not too soft or hard, just right to me, will know how it feels to my daughter soon enough. Also one side for infant and the other for toddler is a great idea and you can actually feel the difference in firmness.
My husband and I had been searching for a good baby mattress for a while. Everyone says firm is best for a baby, so our goal was to get a high coil count. For much more money, we were seeing mattresses with a lower coil count that did not have the extra advantage of this one, which is that it is also a toddler mattress. The price for the value can't be beat! It feels firm, but not so firm that it seems like it would be uncomfortable. The only problem we had was that there was a little extra space between the mattress and the crib that we had to fill with a sheet to get rid of the little gap, but I believe it is standard size. I think our crib is just a smidge bigger than most.
My son loves this mattress and is sleeping well in his new toddler bed and new mattress. I like how it's dual-sided, one firmer side for infants and a softer side for toddlers (although it's hard to feel a difference when you press down). I was very disappointed to find 2 small tears in the white plastic covering on the mattress when we opened it. My husband and I didn't want the hassle of sending it back since we'd probably get another one with small tears d/t shipping and handling.
I did not like this mattress, it feels very soft and makes noise when baby moves. It is plastic, feels and looks very cheap. I am returning it.
I ordered the Baby Mod Emilie 242 mattress from walmart.com and had it shipped to a store to save on shipping costs. This is the same mattress sold under the Da Vinci Emily II brand made by Million Dollar Baby (MDB). There was a tear in the corner of the mattress right above the stitching. The mattress did not look like it was damaged during shipping but rather a production issue. I returned it to Walmart and ordered the mattress again online and had it sent to the store. Once again, I found a tear but now on the side of the mattress. The laminate cover is extremely thin and apparently tears very easily. Even though the mattress offers very good value for the coil count, the quality of the mattress is very poor. I returned the 2nd mattress and will not be ordering again. If you want to take the risk in ordering this mattress, at least make sure you inspect it for any tears before leaving Walmart.
