I don't know why there are so many negative reviews for these patches. I find them so much better than using cream, cream is much messier and doesn't taste good if you lick your lips. They can be a little fiddly to apply, you place them directly on top of the cold sore then peel off the backing. I find they stay in place for around 8 hours. They last longer if you drink liquids through a straw, the more they get wet, the quicker they come loose. As a man, I had to keep my upper lip shaved close because patches won't stick to stubbly upper lips. You keep replacing them till your cold sore has healed. You don't get any nasty scab with patches, just beautifully healed skin. My only issue is the cost. Only six patches for $10. Amazon and other retailers sell 15 Compeed patches for $8 and I usually need 12 patches to fully heal.
Cold sores are often in difficult spots (curved if you will- lip, corner of the mouth, etc) and these don't seal all the way down. Initially from their commercials I thought they were medicated- they aren't. When I put it on an attempted to put make up over it it dusted under the edges and made the circle stick right out, it looked much better to apply make-up directly over the cold sore scab. Perhaps it works for some, but I was very unimpressed with this product and pretty disappointed in abreva.
I bought these for my daughter to conceal a cold sore for a performance at her school. It took her 2 of the 6 patches before she could even get one to stick. Makeup does NOT cover the patch. It was a shiney mess. She ended up taking it off at tha school. Do not waste your money. Not worth it at all.
product cannot be used as directions indicate. Will not stick to lip longer than 5 seconds. will not come off the backer to stick to lip. Pricing for six at $10.00 is outrageous. Not much field testing on this product if any. More time put into the packaging than anything else. Would not buy it again ever.
While six do come in a pack, I ended up wasting four of them because the patch never detached from the backing. Only one patch actually adhered to my skin "properly" however, the patch is too glossy to fully conceal with makeup. It's not inconspicuous at all. The fact that it's not medicated seems useless especially for the money and you're not supposed to use the cream with it either. The instructions on the box mention that the patch will remain attached to the skin for up to eighteen hours, but mine came loose after about a half hour. The only good point is that it does make your cold sore look "smoother" even though it will look like you have a shiny circle on your face.
Little circles of clear plastic. You can take scotch tape and do the same thing! Did not stick to the skin, could not be covered with makeup. Do not buy. Waste of money. The fact that they cost nearly $10 is absurd.
The patch adhesive didn't stick well and the patch itself wasn't what I expected. Hopefully, another company comes up with something better. Don't waste your $9-10.
this product is misleading because it doesn't conceal a cold sore nor treat it. you also can't wear make up over it. your make up will smear. you will also waste 2 patches trying to get used to wear it. waste of money. so disappointed. Just use the treatment cream instead
This product should not be sold due to the fact that you cant get them off the backing and when I get one off out of the whole darn box it fell off after 10 mins. I have used the walgreens brand and It worked so pass on this poorly made product.
These patches do not work. Such a waste of money! 6 come in one box I tried using 3. Useless!
