Being brand new to the world of Accuquilt, I am so amazed at the quality and thought that has gone into the whole Accuquilt line. The strip cutters are my favorite, as I discover new ways in which to use them. So glad I finally got of the dark ages of cutting fabric using only my rotary cutter. The preciseness with Accuquilt is amazing.
I know this is just like the 1.5", 2.5" and other strip cutters I have ordered in the past. What that means it is a fabulous time saving wonder that will make my quilt look much more finished than when I try and rotary cut everything myself. With a rotary cutter there are always those layers that you have to go over and over and then end up with fringes of material. With my GO dies everything is cut straight and clean with very little material waste the first time and usually in the amount of strips need for the entire project. No 1/4 inch slant to the right or left....just purely square strips ready to use for whatever quilt you are sewing. LOVE IT!
I took a class online through the local community college. We did a sampler quilt. I am now spending the break putting the blocks into a quilt. I wanted shavings, so I got the 2" strip die. I love how fast I had all of the stops cut. I love how I didn't have to worry about my ruler shifting and messing up my cuts. Accuquilt made cutting strips fun!
I used this die for cutting borders. As I like to have my borders without seams I folded the length of fabric I needed and cut. My last quilt was a square wall hanging and this die cut all four borders at once, so quick. Also great for cutting sashing strips as it cuts 4 strips at once and with the fabric layered, all the sashing strips are cut in no time at all. A great time saver.
Love it, love it, love it! As soon as I opened this die, I made quick work of the stack of scraps on my cutting table. After cutting strips, I then turned some of the strips sideways on the die using the guidelines and cut tons of squares with one pass of the die! Fantastic!
I just recently began scrap quilting, and I must say that this strip dies makes it so much faster and easier to get my cutting done! I dont even have to think about it, I just lay my fabric on my cutter, turn the handle and Ta Da!! Perfect strips every time! Love it!
I bought the Accuauilt Go Big to improve my accuracy. I can't rotary cut a straight strip if my life depended on it! This die is fantastic! Straight strips every time. I've used every method there is with speciality rulers, still had issues because the strips were a scant 2 inches. I'm using this die to cut out Bonnie Hunter's En Provence pattern. There are a bazillion 4 patches. Sew up pairs of strips, then match strip sets. Lay the strip sets perpindicular to the die, run it through the machine. Watch the magic as you now have paired up 4 patches ready to sew. So accurate! Minimal waste! Love it!
One of the important things while using a quilt binding attachment is the accuracy of the cut. Using the die is the only way to go! The 1 3/4" and this 2" die both work with my attachment and look gorgeous on my quilts and burp cloths and bibs! Thank you Accuquilt!!
I purchased the cutter so I could make use of all the fabric scraps that I have stored from my garment sewing days. It's so quick to cut them into 9" strips so I can sent them through the GO machine and sew them into quilts that I donate to our church's mission quilting project.
While, I will admit that the 2 1/2" strip die is my favorite of the strip dies for its versatility, the 2" strip die is my next favorite die and for many of the same reasons. It is an excellent die to cut strips common for many quilt patterns, as well as to help you create quilts with your own strip quilt design. As well as squares and cross cuts. Plus, I love using this die to cut scraps that one would typicallly toss vs pulling out a ruler and rotary to cut. Great die to have in your collection. Highly recommend it.
