First rooftop bag give ever purchased and it's awesome! Took it on an 8 hr road trip and there were no worries at all. Straps are very secure and the bag itself can fit a lot of stuff. Went through rain and everything stayed perfectly dry inside
Used this item to travel 6.5hours on the interstate during the summer. The product held up great both ways, to and from the beach. I read the reviews and was a little nervous. However, the bag did not have tears or anything!!! We packed this thing tight!!! It holds A LOT of stuff. The one thing I learned from the other reviews, that I had not though about, was it is NOT waterproof. So I put all my luggage in 39gallon trash bags. We went through a rough storm and as reviews state the bags did become damp. But due to planning, my items/luggage were not harmed. This saved me 598.00 on a rental van. GREAT BUY for for me and my family. Took the money we saved and book a private fishing charter for the kids! :)
The carrier was very spacious and had more space than I needed. It held great and only had to tighten the straps a couple of times... more so because I wanted to not that they were too loose. The only downside was that on the way home from trip the back tore at the seams and I had to tape it to keep it together. I didn't have it over-stuffed or even filled to the fullest. I didn't have anything sharp in there to poke it, just suitcase, some beach towels and boogie boards. I am taking it back and exchanging for another. Other than that, I highly recommend it...everything stayed dry.
Perfect size and secure. Holds on great and secure but soft sides were a challenge until I cut some old cardboard boxes to make sides to hold it up for easier loading and shape. Big cost saver for our small trip.
Overall very good, don't leave out overnight in the rain

I purchased the Advantage roof cargo bag for our vacation this summer. It was easy to load and strap to vehicle, but is not waterproof. We had a very short rain shower upon arrival to our destination and water got in it from just one rain shower. I am returning it to Walmart ASAP. I am very disappointed with it.
First use was a disaster. The seams came apart in the corners and the pillows inside were almost lost. Was not able to use it on return trip. Hard top carrier for me from now on.
We drove only 8 hrs and it ripped the seam. Spend the extra money and buy one that will last. We had to spend an hour on our trip trying to find one to replace it .
Had high hopes for this bag. 3 hours into our trip the bag ripped at one of the seems and ended up exposing the bag contents to rain for the next 8 hours of the trip. I get it that things don't last forever but this bag couldn't even make 1 leg of our vacation. Will be returning.
