Great finish Easy to construct sturdy a good buy for the money
I did plenty of research online to decide what is important in a crib, and this one seems to fit the bill at a great price. The crib is good-looking and very solid, all hardwood. I do not need a conversion to a full-sized bed later, so this crib works well for me with one drop side and possible later use as a toddler bed with the drop side removed. I like that it has a spring mattress support, not just a board-type one. I am confident it will be great for my yet unborn grandson. AFG gave prompt replacement by mail when we stripped a bolt head. The small allen wrench needed is enclosed but it is not the easiest thing to use. Assembly is reasonably easy, but it would be hard without 2 people so one can hold pieces in place during bolt tightening.
It is a solid crib whose color also matches all my furniture. It looks really good in my bedroom. However, the drop side panel came in broken. I sent an email to AFG and they respond very quickly and ship a new drop side panel to me the next day. I am satisfied with their customer service and decided to keep this crib for my coming baby. It is a fairly good product. I would recommend it.
This crib is a little cheaper quality than I was expecting. It is nice looking though. If I had paid full price for it I would be upset..but it's marked down right now. Baby hasn't been in it yet..I put my 20mo old in it and he of course started jumping and it held up without wobbling. It's my first brand-new crib so of course compared to my old one it is nice and sturdy...It'll last through more than one kid (I take mine out at 11mo) Not too hard to put together, I'm 36wks and did it with the help of a 6yr old..occasionally holding up one side while i screwed the other in. There are a few not very noticeable discolorations. One thing that may be annoying later is, to move the mattress height you have to unscrew the entire bottom and move it..unlike most I've seen that have some sort of latch system. I am happy with the purchase..I guess since it said "solid hardwood" I was expecting a little more..but overall..I probably wouldn't recommend it for full price, but on sale it's not bad...it is sturdy and serves it's purpose.
