I purchased a used copy of sly 3 for ps2 from a local store and the disc had a a deep scratch in it stopping the ps2 from even recognizing it. On the first application I was surprised to see that the disc started up. I got past the first mission and then it froze during a cutscene. I took the disc out and tried to work out the scratch again with no luck, still froZe on the same cutscene. I tried a third application and really got into the scratch, was able to get past the cutscene and 4 hours of gameplay. Good luck to you.
We were given a very very scratched copy of a Harry Potter audiobook (an old library copy) to see if we could fix it. A few minutes per cd of buffing nearly every audio scratch came out. We have been able to enjoy the audiobook very much. Before we buffed it, it was not useable at all. We have kids with CDs and DVDs. This product paid for itself with one use. We will use for all scratched items. Would give as a gift to anyone who enjoys CDs or DVDs.
My son had an Indiana Jones game that hasn't worked in ages on his Wii system. I tried using all the methods of repairing this disk on line, i.e. ehow.com and so on... My recommendation is to get this stuff try it and if it doesn't work try it a second time. That's what worked for me. Great stuff...
So worth the money. Was a little skeptical because it was so cheap but I figured I would give it a try. With an active 2 year old who likes to get into my DVDs, several are scratched and skip when I play them. Also, my mom's Elvis in Hawaii DVD wouldn't work at all. I just bought this today and it has already fixed 5 of my DVDs. Only downside is that the stuff is messy but it works like a charm. Wish I had it a long time ago!!
I was very skeptical of this product. One of my son's video games had a major scratch in it. The game would start with the opening video and then you'd get a message that said the disc could not be read. Not wanting to buy a new game I looked for some alternatives to fix the scratch. Peanut butter sounded like a really bad idea as well as toothpaste. So, found this online at walmart. Bought it. Came home and used it. The game works great. You can still see the major scratch but the game is running fine. I did complete the process twice, counting to sixty on the second time. Even though the product says it'll leave a haze, I did not see a haze left. Good luck!
so this morning my sister was baby sitting and the kids she where watching were jumping up and down then my modern warfare said this disc is unable to read... then i pull it out and it had the ring of death!!! i was like OMG i looket online for a disc cleaner the i go to the store to pick it up but then i see the scratch out i was like 5.99!!! awesome then i brough it home rubed some on for a minute and walla THE RING WAS GONE!!! i would relly recomend this prouduct. IT WORKS FOR AND DISC AND ITS PERMADENT!!!
I bought this the other night and tried it on my daughter's XBOX game that had a circle scratch thanks to a cat knocking into the xbox. I didn't expect it to work, but had tried everything else. OMG THIS STUFF WORKS!!!! I did have to use 2 applications but the game is now playable again. a $6.00 tube of cream compared to replacing a 20-something dollar game...priceless on a tight budget. Just remember to use a soft cloth like an old T-shirt.
My son pulled the plug on his Xbox 360 Slim with Grand Theft Auto V running on it and tilted it. The read/write head cannot retract if the power is removed unless the power button is pressed. Tilting it caused the read/write head to gouge a groove in the surface of the disc. We tried auto wax and tooth-paste but they couldn't polish down the protective plastic surface above the data film enough to allow the data to be read. When I saw Scratchout at Walmart for $6, I thought, "Why not give it a try?" Both of my sons used a cotton cloth and spent more than an hour, trading the work back and forth, using gentle but small swirls over the scratched area. They finished up with a coating of auto polish. The game that we thought was unrecoverable now plays with no problems at all! His next purchase is a hard drive for the Xbox so that he can store the game on it and use it for gaming with the game disc in the disc drive with the drive not spinning. Scratchout's website needs work.
I experienced game reading problems, and major game freezes until I found a great permanent disc cleaning solution in a great price. I used it 1 major disc lean out and voila! Behold! the good-as-new disc has ben refurbished. It's fast and easy to use; just for minor skipping, just clean it once, and for major scratches, just clean it for 2-3 times and you're done! 100% guarantee that it works!!!
I made sure to follow the directions to the T bc it was a dvd my husband made for our daughter during deployment so it was very special to us and this made my disc worse and completely un-playable. Maybe I got a bad batch of mix or something but its going in the trash for sure.
