Went together well and worked as described. It's nice that you can adjust the flow opening easily for your needs. I was able to reach the handle pretty well but could use another 6 inches. The hopper is nice and large. I did notice the last bit of material doesn't come out unless you shake the hopper or readjust it. Over all happy with product.
I purchased this spreader because it was the best deal for the quality I wanted. Was easy to assemble and was better than expected. I used it for first time today and worked very well. Completed spreading for 35000 sq ft in less than one hour start to clean up. I did modify the unit slightly by tapping (3/8-16) the Top of spreader blade shaft and added a wing nut to help move fertilizer to drop shut. It worked well as you can see by amount of product left in hopper when done. Thanks for making a good product.
Well built spreader. Easy to convert to a remote control cable to be used when towing behind a Zero Turn mower
Really pleased. Spreader was easy to assemble by myself. Good instructions and all parts were included. Hopper holds a full 50# bag of grass seed. It works well.
Searched a long time for a suitable spreader. Have about an acre to maintain. Need a wide stance spreader to avoid tip-overs on side hills, controls that are close to the hitch point and reasonable capacity. This spreader fills the bill. I like the enclosed gear set. One other reviewer indicated that the spreader does "lean" forward to a degree which prevents it from emptying completely ... I agree. Draw bar needs to be bent/reconfigured to facilitate a more level spreader. I did a minor modification to the control handle (see photos). I have an extended reach hitch plate on my tractor (part of a brief-case weight & bracket kit) which makes a long reach back to the control handle. My "fix" seems to work well.
The axle mounting holes are incorrect on one side of the spreader. On one side the axle rubs on the pipe adjacent ot the axle pipe causing a loud sqweek. The other side has about 2mm of clearance I removed some of the metal with a vibratory saw. Also, the hair pin called out for the top of the impeller shaft is so small it fell out on my first use of the speader. i put a bigger one in. Otherwise, Iit is a good value.
I haven't had time to open the box and assemble the unit yet. However, I am a bit concerned. The box arrived with one end of the axle protruding through the side of the box. I took a picture. When I open the box tomorrow I will see if there is any damage. If you don't hear from me, everything is okay.
The cheap plastic manufacturing prevents the plate that is supposed to close while filling with fertilizer to close completely. Because it doesn't close all the way fertilizer continues to leak out of the hopper when it is supposed to be closed. The hitch is too low and while the advertisement for this spreader shows my model of tractor the spreader leans forward instead of being level preventing the last portion of fertilizer from being able to be spread. The operating level that opens and closes the spreader is so short and low that it is nearly impossible to reach from the seat of the tractor. This spreader is poorly manufactured and poorly engineered. Buy other than Agri-Fab.
Missing bolts. Instructions called for bolts that were not included. There was a support brace with no instructions and no bolts, washers or nuts. Figured it out and fortunately I had bolts, washers and nuts available to to complete the assembly.
Don't buy!!! Flimsy cheap constructed and does not work for sanding.
