Good spreader for the price. Could use improvements like a better control lock. Stop keeps moving to a wider opening. Cannot put to much pressure on lock nut for fear of breaking control housing. Owners manual needs improvement as it does not stipulate what direction the gear case/axle should be installed. This is only pointed out in the video on the website. Other than that it is a good unit that handles rough ground well.
Item pushes easily, has good spread; hopper is perfect size; holds a lot; wont tip over. The main issue for not getting a 5 star is that parts of it are cheaply constructed. It will probablydo OK of a household but someone using this daily will destroy it in short order.
Delivered in morning. Assembled , picture of parts and order of assembly , no instructions. Needed slight filing on axle to get it to fit into wheel. Will have to use it later.
Tube is good but can tell the lever will break adjustments numbers meaning amount of products being spread are way off instructions useless gonna end up being salt spreader and or grass seed only
Purchased for the pneumatic tires, but the application adjustment lever lacks sensitivity. Far too course for most seeds or fertilizers. Might be more useful for spreading something larger like rock salt or pea gravel? The axle gear / actuator seems stiff or bound up, making the spreader hard to push.
Got the spreader for sand and salt. Auger is not big enough to get the sand and salt to fall through the opening. Gear mechanism corroded after one winter even after cleaning that had to throw it away.
Do not purchase this item unless you have a REALLY robust set of tools to assemble it! Its shown at such a great price because its a box of out of specification / tolerance pieces that do not readily fit together. I needed a box cutter, grinder, hammer, file, set of wrenches and a screw driver. It took me THREE HOURS to massage the bits enough to get things to fit together. Thank goodness I'm a retired manufacturing engineer and like a challenge, otherwise I'd shipped it back to the store!
Buyer beware!!! This product was missing parts and had major alignment issues. I have had it with online purchases, just get a surprise of how awful and cheaply made these overpriced items are. I won't be tricked anymore and won't waste any more of my time trying to return their bull!
The assembly directions were unclear and small. The open/close gate in the dispenser didn't close adequately and allowed the spreader to dump fertilizer in my gravel driveway. It would never fully close off, even after emptying it. There was a clear gap in the bottom, and no adjustment to correct it. I returned it.
The axle was too big for the bushings, had to ream those out with a drill. Doesn't agitate well at all, the hair pin is too far from exit hole. Handle constantly comes loose, the flow control gate won't fully close, and hangs up when trying to open. The rear stand drags across the smallest imperfections in the ground, very hard to push when loaded. Nothing good about this unit, needs to be recalled...
