I think this is so much fun. It allows you to fly around at top speeds via remote control. It has real life lights and even has the star wars sounds that make it like I am in the movie. I don't know who loves it more parents or kids. I can tell you that any fan of Star Wars is going to love this. It allows you to turn quickly and zig zag through recreated scenes from star wars. This is epic fun and puts you right in the movie. You can mix other air hog fighters with it for even more fun. I love how quickly this things moves and navigates with sharp turns and flashing lights. This is definitely a ton of fun for any star wars enthusiast. I have tried other Air Hogs products and this is by far one of my favorite. It is so much more life like. This is definitely amazing. The entertainment can last for hours as you swirl and thrust through the air in this amazing Speeder Bike. This is highly addictive. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. The first Star wars speeder bikes were in the 1983 Return of the Jedi movie. No other company has built any R/C flying drone versions of these famous Star Wars speeder bikes until now......I first saw these Air Hogs r/c speeder bikes being flown in online videos. I knew I had to have my own. First of all, it does fly really well. But you have to learn to fly it first. Now read on and enjoy.... I bought mine thru Walmart and could not wait to fly it....I've now flown it many times. It flies really smooth. Its charge time is around one hour. The more you use it, the longer its run times will be. It flies between 8-10mins. This is about normal for most smaller sized R/C drones. Most lipo batteries take several charges to max out the cells output. I have flown it indoors mostly. The speeder bike does fly well out doors, but any wind can be tricky. As with all R/C drones, it has no lift without motor control. When its battery power drops, you will want to bring it close to you. I not sure if I would buy one for anyone without prior drone flight experience. If you do buy one for a Christmas gift, I'd try to first keep it low to the ground. Charge it fully, then only try to hover the thing. Like all quads or R/C drones, learn to hover it first. Once you learn to hover it,then begin to fly it around slowly. I would keep it close until you get the controls figured out. It does have flying trim adjustments on the transmitter. The transmitter also has the charge cord for drone. I think other buyers have gotten into trouble in their first flights by giving it full power and not taking the time to learn to fly it slowly first. It will not fly its self. The speeder bike also comes with a USB type cord to bypass the six AA-batteries for the radio. This is a nice feature so you don't run the radio batteries power out charging the bike. The bike is really detailed for a foam and plastic drone. The rider is all foam. I took the speeder bike to a local indoor R/C flying area. The bike does draw a crowd where ever I take it! I would leave the rotor guards on unless you are a very skilled pilot. The thing is very durable, I bounced it off the floor a couple of times. I did ding it into some walls until I got it trimmed out. The rotor guards worked well, no damage at all. Once you get yours, follow the easy to read instructions. A friend has the smaller Air Hogs version of the 4-rotor R/C Star Wars Falcon. I will be buying one ASAP from Walmart as well. I know those also fly awesome! This spring my friend and I will be chasing each other around our local flying area... his Falcon and my speeder bike. Zoom Zoom! I would recommend this Air Hogs R/C speeder bike to all Star Wars fans and collectors!

The stock battery is a 450mah 20c 3.7v. For how heavy this is, that's barely enough power for it. I carefully took the plastic top piece off the bottom foam, cut the stock battery out with the holder that weighted 16 gram, and installed a 720mah 25c 3.7v battery that weighs 15.8 grams. Next I added a walkera style battery connector to the Speeder bike power cable, and ran the new battery with its connector and the new speeder bike connector outside at the bottom, so I can use a external better Charger. Painted them flat black to match and hide the ends on the bottom. WAyyyyy more power than before. This speeder bike even stock battery is only for outside use, unless you have a very large inside room, saw a garage and that's not enough. This speeder bike need need a good 100 foot area so you can open it up. Detailing of the Bike and storm trooper is very good. I would never speed the $100 plus to $150 plus for this drone, but recently amazon has it for under $70, thats a better price range, yeah its about as good as a $40 drone, so your gonna pony up cause its the Imperial Storm Trooper Speeder Bike!!!!! see my pics for my mod. Now it can even carry a small onboard camera, I get about 7min. of flight times and can even handle some breeze.
I think this Star Wars speedster is more for looks than play. For the average user that is. It is very detailed and looks just like what you see in the movie. It's pretty fun to play with but very hard to control. Definitely not for indoor use. You need a lot of room to fly it. If you use rc flyers a lot and have a huge yard, or park nearby, you won't be disappointed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It Breaks easy when flying and I think its too big to fly in the air.
When my son saw the box arrive he was so excited to tear into it and get things going. Unfortunately, I did not have the right number of batteries so there was a day delay to get things going. Once the battery situation was resolved it took us a while to figure out how to charge the thing. Plug a cord into the control that then plugs into the drone seems a bit overly complex. What I also noticed is that this set up is prone to issues in that if you need to move the drone when charging it is kind of a pain. The actual toy was fun. It was super powerful....almost too much so for someone opening it right from the box. This was good and bad. The good is that once the toy is figured out there is some power behind it and skill required to optimize. Bad in the sense that a lot of kids need that instant gratification and it takes a bit to get the hang of it. We have had similar drones and knew how they worked but due to the speed i could easily see it breaking quickly with the crashes that occur at first. Overall, I looked at the price online and it is a good product for the money. If your kid has patience and can quickly figure it out this is good. If your kid want to just pick up and go then maybe it is not the right fit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It flys, seems to just drop from the sky when it gets out of range. 3rd flight the front brown tip broke off hitting the ground. Still flies though. Its neat, because its star wars themed, but might just go with a squarish drone instead.
The Speeder bike was fun for about 10- 15 (7 min) flights. Unfortunately one of the blades broke so now it is grounded. Air Hogs needs to provide replacement parts to keep their products in the air. No matter how experienced you are, there is a slight learning curve to flying this thing so crashes are going to happen.
I have flown several Air Hogs vehicles. This one never got off the ground. Didn't work right out of the box.
