This phone is pretty good. No complaints yet easy to set up
Went online using their automatic phone transfer service on their new designed website and everything transferred over smoothly. They even called me to let me know my phone was fully activated. All my texts , data and minutes transferred from my BYOP to this phone. I mainly got this phone because it has a built in FM Radio and that can save on data. So far, I had 6 apps installed to this phone and I still have 2.0gb of storage space left on my phone. All 6 apps have been moved to the SD card so all and all it's good. Phone kind of reminds me of an old T Mobile Phone I previously owned until the name Alcatel One Touch but oh well. It may be 3G and all but it's a nice phone that does not break the bank at all. Get it if you want a decent smartphone and your expectations are not set too high.
I like Tracfones and have been using them for 15 years. The last few years, I have bought some from Walmart and I am satisfied with the convenience and price. I do not need to register the phone or be subject to the requirement to activate it before I can buy another one. The local pickup makes it free shipping (to me as I pass by Walmart often) even on less than $20 phones. I get the cheapies often as I can use them on Wifi and other uses like a dedicated ODB2 display in my car or a Radio (radio.com) to play in the home that is in an area of bad reception. I also like you can get new phones without losing your phone or phone number. The value plans are good for my family because we dont chat on the phone. It is for necessary calls so over 15 years I have collected 5000 or so minutes on each of our phones. This model phone has 4 cores, GPS, 1+ Ghz speed and enough Ram and Storage to be pretty useful. so I can load in several apps I like including WPS, an office like program that reads Microsoft files. And I can get my email because the screen is big enough to read most of it, though it is still hard to type much.
I am not one of those people who is on the phone 23 hours a day and constantly pulling the thing out. But I do occasionally travel and I do like being able to check on my email while I am out running around doing things and this phone does that great. And the google voice input features are nice. I am kind o old school but I have to admit that I find myself talking to the thing more and more often. It is much easier than typing with my old eyes and fat fingers. I recently had a chance to play with a friends new Iphone the other day. I did not find it any more intuitive to use. The screen was bigger which was nice but it also did not fit in my pocket as well which was not nice. His battery went a lot longer than mine did. I guess you gotta get something for paying 40 times more.
I just got this phone and I love it. I haven't set it up with cell coverage yet, for now I just use it as a mini device. So far, it works very well for everything I use it for (email, music, games, etc.) It's easy to set up and use, and downloading and using apps is very easy. The speakers and camera are pretty decent. Over all, for $25, it was a great purchase.
I got this phone because my previous phone, an LG Lucky, does not have enough internal storage for my needs. Overall I am unhappy with such a cheap phone, and will return to buy a more expensive model. (Looking at the LG Power.) I cannot comment on call quality because I decided to return before ever activating it with TracFone. Internal storage: Of the 8GB internal storage, 4.56 GB is what shows up as "Internal Storage" on the phone UI. That means that the Android operating system is using about 3.5 GB. Of the 4.56 GB, 1.97 GB is used up by the provided apps, bloatware and essential updates. Based on experience with Android smartphones, I would expect to lose another 0.3 GB of storage on additional updates over the useful life of the phone, leaving about 2.25 GB of internal storage for apps. That is much better than the LG Lucky and would meet my needs. Physical build: The Pixi Bond feels much less sturdy than the LG phones I have and than the Alcatel Pop Icon. I don't think it would be likely to break, but I can definitely feel that sturdiness was sacrificed to reach this price point. Sensors: The Pixi Bond has a cheap 3-axis accelerometer. It should be suitable for simple games, etc, but is much worse precision than I wanted. There is no gyroscope or magnetometer. Camera: There are front and rear cameras. Picture quality was poor, even for a cellphone. Operating System: In comparison to KitKat, the Lollipop used on this phone feels very crisp. It looks good and is responsive. I sometimes find it hard to find apps I am looking for, but that is something I could customize without much difficulty. Development: The phone comes with ADB drivers and other drivers that can be installed into a computer to enable development. When you connect with USB, you can choose between MTP, PTP, charging only or drivers install. The drivers are windows-only and cover 32-bit and 64-bit Windows from Vista through Win10. Wish LG were so reasonable.
I was not expecting it to work so well. I used to use a TextNow phone, which were awful (but they were cheap) for $18 a month. This phone was only $14 and I can pay $15 a month for service. This is a great phone for someone who does not text or call often. The only problem I have had with this phone is that when I plug in my head phones while I am watching a YouTube video, Google Search will automatically pop up, but after looking up the solution to this problem, it seems that this is a common occurrence with Android phones. Would recommend!
Not sure what some of the critics were expecting. I've had mine for about 2 weeks. No major problems as a telephone or going on fb and checking email. Good phone for the money.
Just received this phone about a week ago, bought it to switch from Straight Talk to Tracfone. Have had nothing but problems since. Had trouble porting my number, and my texts are not sendjng, nor am I receiving them. Very disappointed. Not sure if it's the phone or the service. Will probably switch to Verizon.
did nit work well touch did not work
