I am an RDA for over 10 years, and I have yet to find a better electric toothbrush for braces. The way the heads rotate are like that which we use in the office. I have had kids in braces that weren't doing very well with getting under the gum lines until they started using this toothbrush. I only wish the battery was as strong as the original in 1987. Back then it polished my amalgam (grey colored) fillings!
There is no other product that shares this specific design. All other tooth brushes are made to BRUSH (skim over) the area. The interplak is designed to softly drill food particles in all the tight places a brush cannot reach. Each group of bristles rotates clockwise and counter clockwise giving it an extrodinary ability to remove particles. The proper way to use this brush is to slowly move it focusing on between the teeth and giving it a chance to remove any trapped food. It is imparitive to floss before using any tooth brush. I have owned an interplaq since its inception. I never have gums that bleed even after a cleaning. I have been praised by several dentists. Interplak did come out with a unit with a weak battery but since has made the strongest unit I have ever used.
I bought this toothbrush for my husband for Christmas. He had owned and loved a previous Interplak brush some years ago. When it finally bit the dust he searched for another, but could not find one, so ended up with a Sonicare instead. He always conplained that it did not work as well. After some research, I found an Interplak at WalMart online and ordered it for him. He says that it works great and makes his teeth "dentist" clean! Only complaint is that they do not sell the replacement brushheads.
This electric toothbrush is absolutely the best on the market. Each tuft of brushes rotates seperately round and round hundreds of times per minute to perfectly clean your teeth. This is the electric toothbrush recommended by more dentists. I have been using a Conair Interplak toothbrush for about 8 years. I paid $75 dollars for the Interplak I had before purchasing this one. (They usually last about 2 years) I did not know WalMart had the brush in stock until a web search led me to WalMart. This exact toothbrush sold for $172 on eBay last year when it was out of stock in most stores. Why?? Once you use this brush you will NEVER want another type/brand. If you ever begin using this brush you will never want to use another brand or type. No other electric toothbrush on the market has the type brush rotation as the Interplak. Some things you MUST remember -- NEVER use toothpaste that has "grit". Only gel toothpaste. ALWAYS rinse the brush head COMPLETELY to remove ALL RESIDUE of toothpaste -- AFTER EACH USE. You MUST plug the base in AFTER EACH USE.
This product is so underrated. It is the best toothbrush out there. My whole family uses it and we never have cavities. The dentist is always amazed at how clean our teeth are even when we go over six months between cleaning. I just wish more stores carried it. This plug in model is the most convenient we have used so far.
This product was great - purchased as an extra gift for Christmas for my husband - he loves it. So easy to ue, clean etc. Will see if it is helpful once he goes to the dentist for his checkup. Recommended by my dentist and other family members
I have used the Interplak on and off for some 20 years. This is the second one I've had that has the charger handle just plug right into an outlet, and I love the design! No bulky charger taking up precious counter space. The last one I had lasted about 5 years before the battery wore out, so the build is good on these things. My daughter has the Sonicare which she has let me try a few times; and while nice, it really doesn't get between the teeth very much to massage the gums there, and the buzz on the teeth if you aren't super careful of your movement is really annoying. This brush is more mechanical and makes a bit more noise, but you don't get that zing if you accidentally touch to back of the brush up against the teeth opposite of where you are working like with the Sonicare. Ultimately I think they end up doing similarly good jobs, but these are 1/4 the cost!!! The dentist clean feel of my teeth is amazing, and it's a wonder for keeping healthy gums. I wish that these were carried in the stores, as they are so much better than the spin brush style, and the cost is very reasonable. Because I couldn't find them in the stores, I'd thought maybe they weren't made anymore. Boy was I delighted to find them at Walmart online! The prior ones I've had utilized two different heads, a head with 5 rows of bristle "tufts" and a smaller 3 row head. These now seem to only have 4 row heads, and it's a fine compromise. The 3 row style was actually pretty useless, and the 5 row sometimes seemed a bit large in a smaller mouth, and was not good in the places where teeth kind of start getting too close together. This new 4 row head maneuvers nicely in tight places, and is also large enough to feel like you're getting good coverage. You don't need to use much toothpaste, in fact I usually just pour a bit of mouthwash in a tiny glass and run the brush a bit in the liquid and then brush my teeth. At the end I run it briefly under the tap and then again in the mouthwash to get it really cleaned out, and then rinse and gargle with the mouthwash. If you do want to use toothpaste, a gel is better. The pasty ones can create build up which impairs the operation of the brush. Rinsing it well while it's running, either in mouthwash or water really helps the heads last much longer. I like to use mouthwash, as we have hard water here, so there's less mineral buildup over time... and it also effortlessly sanitizes the brush after each use. The only warning from my years of experience I will give is go easy. The brushes rotate very quickly, and you really only get in the way of their operation if you apply too much pressure. Just gently guide them over your teeth and you'll be amazed at how clean your teeth will feel... ... and your dentist will be proud of what a good job you're doing on taking care of your teeth.
I purchased this for my nephew. Anytime he would put any pressure the toothbrush would shut off. After two weeks it stopped working all together. I'll be investing in a sonicare after this experience.
This product is worthless and I will be returning it. It does not work at all. I've used another brand for 11 years that is about the same price and this one is no where near the same quality. It simply does not work!
The WaterPik toothbrush that I had been using for maybe 20 years recently died and I have purchased three new ones trying to find a good replacement (WaterPik doesn't make the kind I used to have anymore). This product was the worst of the three -- no power, irregular back and forth motion, awkward to handle. Don't waste your money or time.
