This product is a great deal. I ordered it using site to store shipping and it was ready to be picked up within 5 business days. The box was a little beat up. But, all of the hardward and parts were there. It was easy to assemble and took only about 5 minutes. The included no wobble bolt is a great idea and this hitch mounted 4 bike rack doesn't wiggle or make any noise after connected to the car. The rack also includes a safety strap to go around the cargo and add another securing method. Also included is an "L" shaped bracket that is used to place in a slot between a trunk lid or hatch and vehicle and is connected to the top of the hitch rack. This eliminates any wobble that could result from loading four heavy bikes on the rack and hitting potholes or speed bumps. I hauled four bikes approximately 700 miles without a single problem. I think this is the best bike rack that can be had for the money and I would not hesitate to purchase another one.
It's exactly what I was hoping for. Light, strong, holds bikes securely. Quality product. Great buy.
This product is so great and easy to use! We bought two and took them out of the boxes and tried them out. We returned the more expensive one and kept this one because it is so much better!
After buying a cheaper hitch rack (Bell) online and having to return it because of bad, bad unsafe design, and after checking our local bike shop for the $300+ bike racks, we decided to try the Allen. We are thrilled with this rack. It is solid (you must use the extra tie-strap provided if you have a 1 1/4" hitch because it inherently will not be as strong as the 2"). For $98, this is a bargain. We have been taking our 4 bikes out at least 3-4x a week since purchase. Easy to install, easy to use, quality parts, we couldn't be happier. Hint--have someone with a little muscle tighten down on the bolts when putting it together--it makes all the difference in the world.
I've found this brand rack elsewhere for more money, so for me it was a no brainer where to buy it. Sturdy construction, easy installation and easy to use once on.
My growing children finally made me buy a real hitch mount rack. Sure glad it worked out so well. Pluses: Sturdy Easy to mount/un-mount Excellent value/price ratio Negatives: The Allen sticker fell off in 3 days of sun. Hitch lock not supplied - I just locked the rack to the hitch with a cable lock. Tip: To those who worry that removing two bolts will allow a thief to make off with your bikes; get a long cable and loop it through your hitch, then through the rack and bikes. Not theft proof, but then what is? It makes it secure enough so that you can get a bite to eat and not be paranoid about your bikes. All in all, an excellent bike rack. I don't know how I lived all these years with the flimsy units that never gave me peace of mind. The fact that it is super easy to load/unload bikes is just the icing on the cake.
