Currently own the jr. model (3 of them). Used them for my monitor or laptop, on top a tube-tv (stand goes on top ... in the nook, dvd player and top surface, small radio) and flat-panel tv (the bottom area I put a DVD player, top tv). So now I've bought this one for work. Intend to put my laptop on top and store my comfort keyboard and mouse on the bottom ... in order to keep more desktop area free for other type of work when I am not typing.
I have a notebook and use two external monitors. This is an excellent item to but the laptop under one an distorted the external keyboard unde ruthe other whe not in use to get back some desk space. Highly recommended.
Just what I was looking for... My computer fits under the stand and the 20 inch monitor fits on top saving space and securely holding up the monitor... Note: my computer is a small-form-factor desktop and the stand itself rises up about 5 and 1/2 inches to fit just right; IF your computer is taller than 5 and 1/2 inches, it may not fit for you... Most newer ones will fit with plenty of 'breathing room'. I would recommend to all...
This stand works perfectly for my needs. I am actually using it to elevate my laptop, which allows more airflow around the laptop. Since I am now working remotely, my laptop is on all day, and I was concerned about overheating. I have a very small desk so this allows more desktop space. I have dual monitors so it allows the laptop to be at the same level as the second monitor.
We are using this for our new blue ray player. We could not figure out where to put it . We have our DVR box under it and the blue ray on top. Works out great. It evens up our TV equipment nicely.
Okay, so let's start with the good stuff. This monitor stand has a larger surface than other monitor stands I have (which oddly enough are quite similar to the Allsop). It supports the weight of a 32" Widescreen Television with ease, which was why it was purchased. And, there is plenty of room underneath to put a DVD player or another computer. The bummer was that when I got the stand home and unboxed it, one of the stand caps was missing. So will be returning the product. And yes, I did order another one - that had both end caps.
I have a 17.3 inch laptop sitting on top of a raised adjustable height chill mat to which I attach my 20 inch monitor when I'm not travelling. This monitor stand nicely clears putting the laptop and the chill mat totally underneath...gives me complete access to all ports on the sides of the laptop (as well as the CD/DVD drive), and frees up much needed desk space as opposed to my previous monitor stand. And the price through Walmart was about $10 less than any office supply websites I visited! I would definitely recommend this item to any and all...and I'm not one who normally writes reviews.
I personally find this design to be attractive, and this full-sized monitor stand is a great price. My laptop AND cooling fan fit very comfortably underneath, and the stand sturdily holds a 27" monitor.
Bought this online. Don't usually shop online but with this kind of product, it's the only way to get any decent selection. Wal-Mart's Ship-to-Store is great for those of us tired of paying expensive shipping charges - plus I got it faster than I would have from Amazon (regular shipping). No damage or reason to return the product - arrived in good condition. I'm not the world's biggest Wal-Mart fan, but I will considering buying from them in the future - online.
Our new 39"lcd tv has smaller outer dimensions than our old 37" one, sitting lower in the limited enclosure of our entertainment center. Using this stand lifted it to a more optimal viewing angle, and also allowed us to place a sound-bar speaker directly below the TV.
