[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am smitten with these cotton waffle-weave bath towels which are completely different experience than the usual fluffy looped towel. They are at once very absorbent and slightly pleasantly scratchy like a Turkish towel so they give the skin an invigorating rub. And they are lovely to look at hanging in the bathroom. The bath towel is generous, the bath sheet huge!
I really love these towels. The colors are muted and soft. The blue really is more silvery colored. The white is my favorite!!
I don't consider myself and expert but I do have a few other waffle towels from a few different brands and the Allswell are definitely my new favorite. It's a nice size bath towel and is true to color ( bluish gray) if your new to waffle towels, you will not find them as plush as a standard towel but you will quickly learn the benefits. Allswell Waffle towels are so much more absorbent and dry much quicker after use. They do a great job of drying hair before a blow dryer. They are tighter weaved than some other brands and the attractive fringe is pleasing to the eye. I originally ordered one just to make sure I liked them but have since replaced all my towels with the Allswell waffle towels, washcloths and hand towels, in all 3 color choices. I have not placed any of the them in the dryer as they dry up fairly quickly on a my drying rack, so I cannot attest to shrinkage but all cotton waffle towels will shrink.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll never use a different towel. It wraps around me, I could basically wear it as a dress (still might do that). Plus, it's absorbent, and it's so beautiful with fringe and texture, I feel pretty chic hanging it up in my room, on a door, anywhere!
The towels are OK. they seem to do as advertised, my problem is in the description of the color of the towels. I ordered blue and received an off-white with a blue tine. Everything else in my bathroom is blue these look like old faded towels.
Although my husband and I found the waffle weave too scratchy (I know others like the exfoliating effect), AllsWellHome's customer service was outstanding. I emailed customer service on a Sunday to get a return label (all I had was the shipping label on the box), and a rep immediately emailed me a label. Then it took just a short time to get my refund. For what it's worth, the color of the towel is a very nice, pale silver-blue (called "Silver Grey).
I found the color of the towel I ordered listed in 3 different places. The description here on the website matches the picture: "Blue Silver." The sticker on the bag the towel came in reads "Ice Blue." Both of those indicate some kind of blue, but the packing list inside the (really nice, substantial) shipping box is the only one that tells it like it REALLY is; it reads "Lt Grey." I hate light grey - absolutely my least favorite "color" - but I'll keep the towel, because it's made from organic cotton
i bought these because in the summertime i prefer a very lightweight towel after a shower. i did get that in these towels. theyre absorbent and light and fit that bill. i deducted part of a star because it got bleached somehow and i have no idea what wouldve caused that (i do not use bleach in the wash or in the house at all, and no one uses benzoyl peroxide or any other chemical that could cause fading that im aware of). im sure it didnt happen on its own, though, so i just advise caution wrt the color. but mostly i gave them three stars because they do not wash well. after one wash they look ragged and warped. they didnt fray but do *seem* frayed. basically they just look terribly cheap. not something id ever put in a guest bathroom, despite how effective i find them. perhaps an iron would restore some structure, but im certainly not going to figure that one out. yes theyre stiff until washed-in some, but not scratchy and still pleasant enough to use when i actually want to dry off in the hot summers. i wish i could give them more stars because i do really like them, but for the money i spent i believe they should look as good as they perform.
The color was a little too blue for my scheme so I ended up returning—process was easy and painless though. I wasn't sure about the feel of them either...they reminded me of kitchen towels (not just because of the waffle weave—I've found some replacement waffle weave towels I love.) A solid “maybe” from me.
I really didn't like the towel. Unfortunately it's too late to return them I felt as though I was drying off in a bed sheet. No substance or very much drying power. I'll try again in the summer when the sensation might be more pleasing. As of now, I'm not impressed. Like a fool I bought four based on the opinion of reviews alone.
