This pillow is made with a cooling knit cover. Since I've been using it, I haven't awakened with a sweaty face or neck. I believe it really works to keep me cooler. The filling is a hypoallergenic polyester fiber. I find the firmness to be just right for me--not too soft or too firm. It is machine washable and dryable. I like it!
The Allswell Sensacool Standard/Queen Size Pillow is just that … COOL! The pillow has a soft knit cover that allows you to feel the coolness as soon as your head hits the pillow. It is a welcome relief in this summer heat. I sleep on my back and it was comfortable throughout the few nights I have used it. The knit cover is made of (53%) polyester, (29.5%) nylon and (17.5%) polyethylene (a type of widely used plastic that helps with cooling to me). The pillow is filled with 100% polyester batting, making it plump and giving me medium to firm support. The pillow imprints (pattern) did not interfere with my sleeping and yes, I use a pillowcase when sleeping. The pillow measures 20 inches wide by 28 inches long and is about 4 inches deep before you put your head on it. The components allow it to be machine washable in cold water (definitely use the gentle cycle) and dry on low heat I definitely recommend the Allswell Sensacool pillow because I had a couple of cool, comfortable and restful nights of sleep. I give this pillow 5 stars! Note: I received this product as a promotion.
I received this pillow a few days ago and immediately put into service. It is thinner than I usually get since I am a side sleeper. But after a few nights of sleeping on it, I like it a lot. It is firm enough for support, but soft enough that it doesn't bunch up and feel hard. I especially like the cool feeling of the cover. It is Polyester, nylon and polyethylene. Sounds like a blend I haven't heard of before, but it has a smooth, almost silky feel to it. It has a slight texture and slides into and out of the pillow case so easily it is unbelievable. If you want a huge, overstuffed pillow or one that totally collapses when you lay your head on it, this is not the one. But for soft gentle, cool support, it would be hard to beat.
I was excited when I got the Allswell Sensacool SQ Pillow. Trying to sleep while having a hot flash is hard. As I was having a hot flash while sleeping I hardly noticed I was having one. Don't get me wrong I new it was happening but my head and neck stayed cool and I hardly sweated. The queen pillow is good but I will be upgrading to king for more space. When you lay on the pillow it fits around your head and neck with good support. Not to soft not too hard just right. The pillow slip is an added plus. I love my Allswell Sensacool SQ Pillow.
I have never had a cooling pillow before so I was really skeptical if it would feel cool. I can honestly say it does feel cool to the touch at first, but after laying there awhile you will have to flip it to feel the coolness again. The pillow is thick, but when you lay on it it does give... so it's soft yet has support. But it does bounce back, it doesn't flatten after laying on it. So if a thick pillow hurts your neck this would not be the one for you. If you prefer a thick pillow it might be to your liking. It is well sewn all the way around. It can be washed in the washing machine. I'm happy with it.
The Allswell Sensacool Pillow is a super cooling pillow. I sleep hot and this really helped me to stay cool throughout the night, even during these hot summer nights. It isn't quite as plump as I prefer it but it keeps it shape well. Stays cool and fresh. It is easy to clean and the material is very soft. It is durable even for this sleeper who tosses and turns. It really aided in me getting a better night's rest since I wasn't feeling so hot.
I swapped my pillow out with this one for a while since I sleep hot and this pillow has the cooling feature. I will say the cooking part of the pillow does work but that’s all I really liked about it. The first thing I noticed about this pillow is that is has a horrible smell. It’s a smell I can’t even describe but even after trying to air it out, it still smells like that. When I slept on it it was too soft for my liking and when I woke up my neck was hurting. If you like a soft pillow and can get rid of the smell then I would say it would be a nice pillow. I like my pillow firmer so this was a negative for me. I’m going to try to get the smell out with a fabric spray or something and I’ll let my daughter sleep on it since she likes softer pillows.
The pillow is a nice size for a Standard/Queen, and a nice height. It has soft fabric and feels smooth on your skin. It feels soft to squeeze but it flattens right away when you lay on it. I tested it out (before washing it), it was a nice height but I got no cooling sensation from it, it was no different then my regular pillow in that way. After a short time laying on it my head sunk into the pillow and almost felt like I was on a flat surface. It was no longer comfortable and I had to switch back to my other pillow. Now the wash test. Like with all my new pillows that are machine washable I threw it in the washer and then cool dried it as the instructions said. Well, now you have this very fat pillow that's too high and lumpy to lay your head on. I am very unhappy with this pillow.
This Allswell pillow is a standard sized pillow that is very soft, not firm. It is made of 100% polyester and has a fiber batting on the outside. This batting can be a bit annoying as it has a lot of tiny holes and when it fell on the floor once, I spent the next few minutes picking small pieces of sand from it that would not shake off. This pillow is supposed to be a cooling pillow, but I have seen absolutely no difference between it and my other, non-cooling pillows. This pillow is supposed to offer firm support of the head and neck, but it’s the softest pillow I have ever slept on. Honestly, this pillow did not live up to my expectations. I was expecting cooling and haven’t felt it. I expected firm and got extremely soft. It was a disappointment. I do not recommend this product.
I wanted to like this Sensacool “cooling” pillow – I really did. I wondered before I received the pillow how the pillow would actually provide the cooling effect without a built in fan or air conditioner. And when I first unpacked the pillow and laid my head down on it my brain wanted to convince me it was comfortable and did provide a cooling effect. I assumed the effect would come from the fabric being able to breathe, or something like that. But after trying to use it in an actual sleeping situation, it did not seem to me that it provided any cooler air to my head/face than any other pillow I have used. In fact, the material that it is made from seems denser than some others. Also, the pillow is too soft and hard at the same time. Let me explain. The pillow is soft enough for your head to sink in and for it to conform around it but also retains its shape enough around that head area to where it seems like the pillow is closing in around you and in fact could be plotting to smother you in your sleep (well maybe not to that extreme). Well- that being said this is my opinion and the pillow could be perfect for some tastes. Is it the worlds worst pillow- no, and it might have some purpose or use but I would not recommend taking a chance to use this as your main pillow. Sorry Sensacool. You’re not for me.
