Highly recommend this as a sleep aid. It has three very good herbal sleep remedies that help you get to sleep and often stay asleep through the night. Melatonin is what makes you sleepy from being in sun all day, L-tryptophan is the stuff in Turkey on thanksgiving day that makes you sleepy, along with warm milk. Valerian Root is an added herbal remedy for sleep, It's what gives the remedy the bad smell, air doesn't mean that it's bad.
Alteryl comes in two forms. One is a slower acting tablet that contains more of the sleep-inducing ingredients and the other form -a gelcap - acts a bit faster but costs at least two dollars more than a 60 count box of the tablets. I buy the slower acting tablets because they are noticeably more effective and less expensive. I don't mind waiting another 15 minutes to go to sleep on the occasions when I need it. Alteryl, as far as I know, is the only sleeping aid, over-the-counter or prescription, that contains L-tryptophan. L-tryptophan is an amino acid that synthesizes proteins. It is also a natural component of turkey and chicken that makes people fall asleep. It also contains the amino acid glycine, melatonin and a proprietary blend of GABA, skullcap root extract, velarian root extract, chamomile extract, hops extract and passion flower extract. No other sleep aid comes even close to containing so many effective relaxation and sleep inducing ingredients. The downside of Alteryl is The ""other ingredients" it contains; crosamellose sodium, magnesium stearate, silicone dioxide, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide and talc. These "other ingredients" are of concern because of the controversies that persist over how safe or unsafe they may be. Obviously I am willing to step out and take a chance. So far I have experienced no side effects from Alteryl which I've been taking off and on for years. Put simply, it works and for me has no side effects like morning drowsiness. I sleep 6 to 7 hours and wake up alert and eager to start the day.
Best sleep-aid ever. It's the only thing that keeps me asleep (most of the time), and that's a huge thing because I've been suffering from a sleep disorder for almost 35 years. I can't use any prescription drugs because I've tried numerous ones and they all cause me palpitations. This is the only thing that works for me and can be bought using my Flex-spend account, which makes it slightly cheaper for me.
Alteril's combination of natural Melatonin, Valerian, and L-Tryptophan has been the perfect drug-free solution for my troubled sleep of late. It comes in a blister pack, is easily dispensed, and I can count on it for a good night's rest.
It is a great alternative to prescriptions meds. I usually take it about 30 minutes before going to bed. It helps me be sleepy and I can usually sleep 6-7 hours a night, which is all I seem to require. Next morning I feel awake...no groginess. I love that I can order it on line as well
Received these about one week ago and couldn't wait to try them. Took 2 approximately one half hour before bedtime and was asleep within about 10 minutes. it was the first night of restful sleep I had had in a long time. Took again the next night with the same results. Very happy with my purchase!
I have struggled sleeping all night for 2 decades. I found out about the product from a friend who actually gave me some to try. I've been using it for approximately 8 yrs and use it daily I wake up without feeling groggy like prescripted sleep meds leave me experiencing. The gel caps work also, I take my daily dose about an hour before I go to bed each night.
Besides prescription drugs, this stuff is the only thing that works for me. I put a one star rating because I know people look at the negative reviews more than the positive reviews. At least I always do but I'm a littl8e odd.
Inconsistencies with how much melatonin is in this product. The image of the ingredients shows 4mg of melatonin which is what I previously had. After receiving the product there is 10 MG of melatonin pee serving. Much more than I want to take.
I ordered SLEEP 3 melatonin tabets, and it was out of stock. The shopper selected this product as a substitution, and I approved it. But when the shopper went to check out my order, the store wouldn't approve it. So, I never got this item. I did, however, get charged for this item. I had to put in a claim to remove the charge.
