The Amana 12000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is super easy to install. I love that I don't have a big unit sticking out of my window any more. Everything I need to install it is included. This unit cools off the room quickly. I really like that I can have it closer to me than a window unit. This portable unit has made a big difference in cooling my 2nd floor of my home. I recommend the Amana 12000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control in White, Black for Rooms up to 500-Sq. ft. for anyone wanting a window or portable air conditioner.
Easy to set up. Runs quietly. Nice size and easy to move. Haven't had it long but pleased with its performance.
My living room, kitchen and dinning room are basically all the same room. The last machine we had was twice the size and was half as effective. This keeps it too cold for my liking. Wife likes it cold.
I found The Amana 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner to be quite powerful. I use it in my bedroom, it not only gets cold quickly but keeps my room cool. I love the convenience of having a remote control that also has a timer. The window attachment fits perfectly and It is not too loud and does not interrupt our sleep.
This portable air conditioner blows cold air. It is fairly quiet and efficient for the small office space I’m using it in. I like that it is portable so if my home AC went out and I needed this unit to cool a bedroom or small room until I could get my unit repaired, it will be sufficient. It has a remote control which is nice. It has an internal condensation reservoir that alerts you when it needs to be emptied. It can also be used as a dehumidifier. It comes with everything you need to get set up.
This Amana portable air conditioner was packaged nicely from the factory. It weighs 60 lbs. and is 14.2Dx16.9Wx28.7H. The remote control is 5 3/4H x 1 3/4W x 1/2"D. This unit is to be installed with double hung windows. The set up is easy, however, with my window sill we had to make an adjustment so that the hose could fit in the plastic holder that attaches to the window. The window attachment is adjustable to fit the recommended size windows. It is a nice looking unit with a white front and black back. The remote control stores on the back of the unit as does the power cord for easy moving from room to room. The batteries were included for the remote control. The unit rolls okay on tile or solid floors but on my thick carpeting it didn't move so well so I used super slides to move it to my room. There are helper handles built in to the unit which helps. The vent hose is flexible and the unit must be about 3-4' away from the window in order to set it up. There is a 1 year limited warranty. There are 3 fan speeds and the highest one is a bit noisy but I plan to cool the room and turn it off in the evening. The low speed could be used at night or anytime as it isn't noisy. It has 3 modes: cooling, dehumidifying, and fan. The remote has an easy to use 24 hour timer that will set in 1 hour increments. On carpeting, the lower drain valve would be hard to access. This unit can be plugged into a regular outlet 120 volts. The louvers on the unit adjust straight out or up toward ceiling. The unit cools the room nicely and quite fast. For security, we installed a wood stick on our double hung window so no one could lift up the window as we are on ground level. I like this much better than the window style units as they can be hard on the windows which is why I wanted one of these units. I hope to get lots of use out of this portable air conditioning unit and I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a non window style unit.
The connector hose can be hard to put on. The unit helps the room stay cool. I did like that you can adjust the cut to the size to fit for the window. It does roll around. Was heavy to bring in
It works okay in a small, under 150 square foot room. But the vent hose came out of the attached ring and it won't go back on. I had to duct tape it for now.
I am writing a review on the portable air conditioner by Amana. I hope you can see by my picture that this is an upright air conditioner that is on wheels, this is not an air conditioner that you can put in a window. Now having said that you will have to vent the air conditioner to a window and if you can also see in the picture there is a window insert panel and a vent hose to do this with. You also need to know that you cannot plug this unit into an extension cord, you need a dedicated single circuit only three prong plug. This unit also comes with a remote control and they have included two AAA batteries. The remote allows you to set the mode, timer, swing, fan plus you can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius and the on and off power, it also has a good size LCD display for easy reading. On top of the unit itself you have a display screen, timer, fan, up and down, mode, power. In the mode setting you have cool, dehumidifier and fan. One other thing I found very nice is that the air filters can be removed and vacuumed off for light cleaning or you can wash the filter with warm soapy water then let it dry then you put it back into the unit. This is a really nice unit and it is good size, it stands about 2 1/2 ft tall and it is heavy so I am very thankful it is on wheels. I haven't got to use it alot yet since it is still cool here but just trying it out I am really impressed and I'm excited to start using this daily as soon as summer kicks in.
I Regret My Decision To buy this product! It doesn't work as well as it should be. At the beginning it was making my( little living room) very comfortable but after a while it became very noisy and dripping out a lot of water plus the living room not even getting cold enough. It just blowing warm air.
