We bought this grill after reviewing many other products. This grill seemed to offer the most features to meet my needs (moved from a house into an apartment no gas grills) more importantly it fit my budget. I had some problems assembling the grill but nothing that 20+ years of engineering experience couldn't handle. Honestly I think if you follow the directions anyone could assemble this. The grill is small but if you plan properly you can feed 6 people with Steak, Shrimp & Corn on the cob easily. Hint is to cook in stages and keep things warm in the oven or serve in stages. It was a great Memorial Day cook out. It is the perfect size for 3 or 4 people. This grill does a fantastic job; the meat has a nice flame kissed flavor and did not dry out. The reflector pan cleaning involved is a little messy but the trade off is being able to step out of your door onto your porch, patio or deck and grill a steak or rotisserie a chicken, trust me it is well worth a little clean up. This is perfect for those of us living in an apartment that can only have electric grills. The features for the money are excellent.
We are very happy with this grill. We purchased a bag of lava rocks and placed them on the pan under the heating coil which increased the the heat factor beautifully. Need to choose smaller lava rocks out of bag and don't overlap them when placing on pan. We also smoked with some pre soaked beech chips that worked great! Also purchased the recommended grill cover, it has a nice weight to it and is nicer than I thought it would be.
Just plug it in to an outdoor plug, wait about 10 minutes, and go bar-be-cue! This is the 4th purchase. Original one wore out after about 10 years. 2nd one a gift. 3rd one for me..... was still working when I moved, but I gave it away. Bought 4th one. Been using MECO electric grill for about 40 years. Love them
This grill meets my expectations and needs. Since I cannot have a gas or charcoal grille on my balcony, this is my only option- even if it is a little pricey. The grille assembles fairly easily with basic tools. I do not like the fact that in searing position, the heating coils are too close to the food and will burn if you don't pay attention. The heating element/coil can be rotated away from the food though, so a little more time is required to cook through. I'm still experimenting with the various coil positions. Other than that, it heats well/fast, after a few uses it has a nice grille flavored taste on the food and the rotisserie is excellent for roasts, ribs and whole chickens. Buy it.
We ordered this grill a few weeks ago and it came damaged. It was due to lack of packaging. We returned it without any problems and ordered another one. This one came in tact. We owned one of these grills prior to this purchase. We used it all the time and it was time for a new one. We love the fact that you don't need to worry about running out of propane or charcoal (which can be very messy). It's basically care free. It heats up in about 3-5 minutes and cooks wonderfully with "even" cooking. The grilling surface is large enough to cook for a family of 4 easily. I don't think I could ever go back to propane or charcoal. Great product!
This grill was simple to set up and has worked great for us even on winter nights! It heats up nicely and seems to retain heat as well. A quick google search and I ordered the matching Aussie grill cover so we are set up as well as we were with our great gas grill that was outlawed by the local fire department. We can finally grill again and I am more than ecstatic!
There are a couple of reasons that I chose this electric grill over another gas grill. #1 was the fact that I don't have to worry about running out of gas in the middle of a cook-out. #2, the gas grill would flare up with fattier foods, such as hamburgers. I have not had any flare-ups at all with the electric grill. The electric grill does not produce as instant a heat as the gas but it does seem to have pleanty of heat once warmed up to sear meats and effectively cook. I also like the fact that I do not have flame-outs on windy days like I used to have with the gas. The element is adjustable from flat for 'even' heat, to angled, producing more heat in the back and less in the front. This is a great feature as I prefer my steaks medium and my wife likes everything "dead!" It also has a verticle setting for the rotisserie. I used it to roast a turkey and it was excellent. The cost was a little higher than I would have liked but really I am very pleased with it overall. Time will tell how durable it is, but it seems to be pretty well constructed. One minor downside, if you are planning on using it for a large crowd, it probably won't be large enough. The grill surface is about 10" x 20" and is plenty for most families. It is about the same size as a small gas grill. I would highly recommend this grill to friends and family.
We needed an electric grill because our condo association no longer allows propane grills on the decks. We really wanted a grill with a rotisserie, so we ordered this one. So far, we have grilled steaks, fish, lamb chops and put a chicken on the rotisserie. Everything turned out beyond our expectations. DELICIOUS! It takes a little bit longer to cook than the propane, but not much. It cools down fast when the cooking is done and clean up is easy too. The grill grate fits in the dishwasher. Foil grease pans can be found at any grocery store. We love this little grill! People with condos, stop procrastinating and buy this grill!
Receive the grill after numerous shipping and non-delivery errors only to find that the tempture gauge handle was gracked. I taped it up because if I returned it, With all the shipping problems I had. I may never get it back. I just saw the upload for pictures. Never saw the crack until after it was all put together. Today was going to be the first day I used it. It still works but no for the price I paid. Never again...
After spending the time to assemble this product, we were quite disappointed to discover not only that the window glass for the grill was missing, but also that there were no holes drilled in the legs (posts) so it was impossible to attach the wheels to the cart.
