This desk was just what I needed. I put it together myself and it was super easy. The instructions were better than any that I've ever had to put together before. There were a few dings in the desk, but nothing more than I expected in transit. Very very happy!!
I was able to put this together by myself. Yet, it is a solid piece. Shipping was amazingly reasonable, shipping in good time. Finish is perfect. Lots of flexibility with shelving. Cubbies are 14" wide which allow for a wide selection of boxes. I am going to use as two work stations with a chair on each side. Plenty of room.
This desk for the price is a great product. I saw many reviews complaining about dents and dings but I run the risk and made the purchase. Mine came in a big, HEAVY, HEAVY box all messed up and I though the worst but when I opened everything was in good condition except a really small damage in one corner of the counter top (I can live with it) hard to see. The pieces not sure why but they were dusty inside of the huge box (easy to clean though). They have delivered to my house (UPS) and I had not a single issue. I have a few Ikea furniture and this desk really look like an Ikea furniture and I am happy for it, the desk is strong and the shelves have different positions (I love it). The set up took me about 30 mins. Every piece has a letter on the site for an easy set up (just follow the pictures from the set up manual). All the screws are provides and all the holes are aligned perfectly. The only need you need is a screwdriver. Some people said you need 2 people to assemble it but I am 32 and I did it myself with not a lot of effort. The counter top is heavy, the rest are not as heavy. The desk does not have a hole in the counter top for the cables but have a space under it in between the lower shelves by your feet where you can hide them behind the shelves if you have the shelves by the wall. I recommend buying the $6/each little Foldable Fabric Storage Baskets (see the pictures) In conclusion, for the money I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a compact, firm, with storage space (shelves) desk for their home.
The table and book shelf are good quality and hold strong. It looks decent in my apt. The table is pretty big for work space. I recommend it. I am using this as a study table. It could be used for dining took.
I love the desk, but two of the anchor bolts didn't fit right. I was too excited about getting the desk together to care so my husband managed to make it work. I ordered a second desk for him hopefully we don't have the same issue.
My teenage son helped me put it together, and he just loves it. I thought it would have been a little nicer quality, but it seemslike the Formica coated particle board will last. Easy to put together and modern lines. We hope to enjoy it through his high school years.
This would be great for a small apt or a dorm room. Easy to put together with help. I really wanted a white one because I thought it would be easier to paint. After attempting to use a green paint with primer included 3 times on one item only to have the black bleed through, I had to buy KILZ primer to paint 2 coats then I could use the green. The Kilz is oil-based and the decorator paint was water-based to there is a pickling effect. I'm getting use to it.
The desk is ok. not too bad of the price or product. Of course you get for what u pay, but overall I am satisfy with the product
The desk is good and fairly priced. Its not a desk that would be recommended to build then rebuilt. The desk is made of shredded wood particles with a 1mm of black textured layer. Not a tough layer either. Surely its not a coincidence that the main complaints are with damaged pieces. The desk arrives fairly well packaged in pieces. I would highly recommend this desk in comparison to the IKEA version. This desk is far more elegant than the IKEA replecant. As a college student 53 inches is plenty of room and awesome storage options. I had to request for some major pieces to be replaced. Since the desk had a dent on the top center. Then there was another piece where the corners were chipped. Which took two weeks to receive after the damaged desk arrived.
I wrote about this yesterday. It arrived to my home with the corners damaged.
