Sets up easy IF you have some AC pigtails , as some reviewer mentioned, the outlets are close together, so any needed transformers will take up too much space, and you'll run out of outlets. SW loads/installs easily, but you'll have to keep it plugged in to a USB. Too new to address reliability.
Use this product\manufacture for 30 computers, good quality
The unit seems well built and will work for lower current needs. It can't handle running something like a CPAP for hours on end, it was my fault for not reading the specs correctly and I had to return it for a different device. But that's on me, this unit is just fine and works as advertised. So I'm giving it 5 stars.
I have only had this unit for about a week, but has worked great so far. Much better than the BGM1500B which immediately arc flashed upon first use. I returned that without any issue but could not get the newer version BGM1500B-US at the APC web-site or any of their affiliates that I have heard of (only one affiliate claimed to have them in stock, but I did not want to order from a business that is completely unknown to me).
Unit received 07/01/2024, installed 07/05/2024. Working properly. So far computer and communications equipment has 100% up time. I have installed/used APC products in the past for employers and this was the reason I chose APC for home. Easy setup and it is working well. Instructions are easy to follow. Would recommend expanded instructions if using this unit to manage power spikes for Ethernet cable into/out of UPS unit as it relates to the ground terminal screw. I called APC technical and finally got an explanation what this ground screw is used for, but not much explanation how to connect it to house ground. At this time, I am not using this feature.
Amazing product from German electrical giant company. Due to battery will be heavy but this is what it is ; since it is UPS. Loads of ports to charge and provide great backup for a single unit to stay online; like wifi modem or router to work.
More compact than my old one, which is still going strong/
Overall, like most APC devices, this is a great device. I have a previous model design for this UPS and I love the newer design except for one thing - the battery hookup. Hooking up the battery on the previous design was much easier, now it requires messing with an actual wire which isn't a bad thing in general, but APC made the wire length awkward, too stiff, and with a very weak outer sheath that is surrounded by sharp plastic. Trying to hook up the battery without damaging the wire was an absolute chore I don't wish to do again.
I have had this unit since mid-April and it has got the job done on two occasions, but tonight it tripped offline, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. The display indicates only 50% load as I write this review, but when it tripped my computer wasn't being used. I bought this device to prevent this from happening! Any ideas?
In theory, this would be a good UPS. It's not, and the reason is simple. Most people today use either USB plugs or transformers. This unit has space for only 2, if you're lucky. I wasn't. First, it's almost impossible to utilize all the battery backup slots. If you have one right angle plug, which my tv has, you're out of luck because you have used 2 spaces for one plug. Then, my phone uses a transformet, so that takes up 2 more spaces. It's obvious that whoever designed this didn't notice that in this day and age, simple plugs are a thing of the past. So, to say this has 6 battery backup slots is stretching the truth, because when using it for todays electronice it's impossible to use all 6.
