I liked the natural range of colors in these rocks! They were a great addition to my planted fish tank!
My hubby bought these and we just love the way they look on top of the smaller river type rocks that we also bought to fill the bottom of our 20 gallon Aquarium!!! My hubby had to look under several bags in Walmart Pet Department to find 2 or 3 bags to see if they would look and they truly rocked laying round for varying effects which provides a natural look for our project we are working on together to provide an aesthetic atmosphere for our planned purchases of future fish to inhabit our tank when finished with it! We are still looking for 2 or 3 more bags of this size for our tank. Hope this helps you decide upon a purchase like or similar to this! :)
For $1.97, you can't go wrong with the effect these natural polished rocks make in a glass jar with cactus! However, I ordered 2 of the brown packages and I got 1 brown and 1 black....it was not worth my while to complain and exchange/send back. Wish they would have gotten the order straight.
These were just what I wanted but it took 10 bags total to cover a bottom of s 10 gallon aquarium. But made a beautiful bottom.
Makes a cool contrast to whatever kind of bottom you've set up in your tank.
These rocks are a fine addition to my sons Betta fish tank. It takes 2 bags for a 1.5 gallon tank though so for anything larger you'll need 2-3 bags for every 2 gallons of space.
I bought these instead of normal, smaller gravel because I got a tank with an undergravel filter, and had read online that small pieces of gravel can get stuck in unwanted places with that sort of filter; it's also nice because I only have a 1-gallon tank and most bags of gravel only come in 5-pound bags at the smallest. The downside is that when uneaten food floats down to the bottom, it tends to fall between the rocks, where I doubt it will do much for the water quality; but that's my own problem, I'll just have to clean it and make sure I change the water. =)
I ordered three of these for my 55gallon and 20gallon tanks. I assumed all the rocks would be the color of the photo but i was mistaken. I received a bag of mixed colors(same as picture) bag of all black and a bag of all white. I just wanted all of them to be the natural color. Good for the price and each bag has a lot of rocks but should be a way to pick what color you want.
The substitution was not what I wanted. :(
I bought these in black (same brand). They started to break off in the water. There were tiny clear shavings floating around with my betta after 2 days. I tried rinsing them individually, put them back it the fish bowl, and it was even worse. Not only do I recommend you not buy these rocks, but I would steer clear of the entire brand.
