You will be glad you have this little item, the first time your power goes out... I learned this first hand, when my power went out during the night.. The airhose, that had been pushing air through the line and into the tank, worked like a syphon when the power went out, and started to empty my aquarium onto the floor. With this little item, that will never happen again.
Just like what the other user say... Please use this with an air pump so that water doesn't siphon back into your air pump and pump water onto your floor. This will prevent that and its very cheap and works very good. Get a few of them at your store.
check valve was stuck closed in one and hardly no air pass in another.
I put it on my tank and the air stop flowing at the rate it did before I placed it
DOES NOT WORK!!! I bought 2 of these valves and both does not work. I have a tetra 100 air pump (good for 100 gallon tank) and no air would come out of these valves!!! Wasted my time buying and having to return it. BUY TOP FIN check valve!!!! You won't regret it!
What is these things made of? The plastic is cheaper than cheap plastic. They break so easily. It's like they will just crumble in your hands. You can't put any kind of pressure on them when connecting a hose. Definitely over priced for what you get. If you're lucky to get it installed. Don't expect it to last. Might be just enough to get you by in a pinch.
