I bought the Aqua Vu Av715c about a month ago, and I am thoroughly impressed! It has greatly improved fishing success. You can watch the fish’s reaction to how you jig your lure and entice them to bite. Also good for finding good structure and aquatic vegetation. I had bought an older camera used a few years ago and it was no good. So I saved up and bought this one. Amazing buy! For the price it is even better deal! Great picture, large screen, it is even pretty easy to see in bright sunlight. Thick cord and durable yet is pliable even in cold weather when crusted with ice. I am glad I purchased the camera!
I upgraded to this model this year from a basic Fish TV. Wow what a great camera. The camera is solid and the cable is very thick and heavy duty. Easy to adjust for different viewing angles. The screen is outstanding. Very clear with a nice wide image. My model came with the Mopod. I love this accessory. I can pan around and check out the water everywhere. The cable does slip out occasionally but really not a big deal. I like that the battery is inside the unit rather than carrying it separate. The case is great and solid. I like the fact the camera is stored outside the case in a mesh pocket. This keeps water dripping off the camera onto the rest of the unit. I would highly recommend this product.
I generally fish the very large European inland “seas”. Compared with commercial carp fishing venues the carp are very scarce and difficult to locate. Despite having a reasonably top end fish finder, echo etc your perception of what is underneath the waters surface is far removed from the reality. Most anglers who purchase the Aqua-Vu will probably be predictor fishing, pike, bass etc. Carp fishing is quite different insomuch that we bait the lake bed and then hope to entice the carp to feed on that chosen spot. When used with the trolling fin finding clear spots on a very weedy lake bed is absolutely SIMPLE! As soon as I find a decent location I throw out a H block marker float & job done!! Absolutely brilliant piece of equipment!! Very pleased with it.
I purchased my AV715c at the end of the season and couldn’t believe what I was missing all this time. One thing I did was to add number clips to indicate the depth I was in since I don't have fish finder, I would highly recommend this to everyone. Keith
I have an old Aqua view Scout which has a problem with the on off switch, so in January I purchased a brand new AquaView 715c and was exceptionally pleased with it! in the late but I fish we have a lot of smaller perch and with the camera I can keep my bait away from the small fish and wait till the larger ones come in and thereby saving the amount of bait that I use. I hope to have my old camera fixed this summer when I come to Cross Lake during a vacation so I can use it when I have grandkids ice fishing! Thanks!
I bought it to help keep grandkids interested while ice fishing, worked great they had lots of fun fishing and watching the camera.
The Aqua Vu AV715c arrived quickly from Cabela's (only three days). It was packaged really well and had easy instructions for use etc. I used it for ice fishing and the cold seemed to be of no issue. My son and I caught several hundred pan fish, bass and northern pike this season and had no issues but one with the camera. That issue was more annoying than a true problem. Periodically, the color would fade and we could only see in black and white. I still haven't figured out why. If not for this issue I would have given it five stars. One other good point is that it didn't take up to much space in my small portable ice shelter.
I originally purchased a used scout model for a test drive. I loved it. So I decided to purchase the 715 model. I am disappointed. I wish there was a temperature gauge like the in the older model. A short battery life. Poor screen display. I wish I could of spent the extra $200 to get a temperature gauge. But if it’s all you can afford, yes it is a okay camera.
I bought for the winter ice fishing season. I fish a lake that is a little darker water and you need to setup the camera under 2 ft away or you can't see your bait, and even less if very much snow is on the ice. I expected more, my buddy has an Aqua Vu over 20+ years old and is able to see as well as my new one.
Image quality average at best. Worked okay at night. Camera Panner is already broken after only using it twice. Would probably not recommend
