does what I need it to do and a great value
What "mc5cents" clearly pointed out in his review of this item is spot on. Attaching your gps to this dash mount allows you to place the gps and mount on the car floor(front passenger side works best for me) when you park your car...out of sight, out of mind for would be thieves. It is also makes it easy to re-position your gps on your dash in any way that you desire. The rubberized bottom surface of the mount keeps it put no matter where you place it on the dash. It does this so well that we have never had to use the optional adhesive safety hook that is also included. My wife and I bought one to share between our two vehicles some time ago. I'am so impressed with its convenience that I'm buying another to keep in my truck for my own travels. It meets both of our needs perfectly. Buy one for yourself...you won't be sorry!

BOught this because I thought the mounting area was larger. Needed a bigger area to attach a rear view camera monitor. Can make this work by cutting down the bottom bracket of monitor,
Handy thing on the road. You can just grab it and put it on the floor so that it's out of sight for would-be thieves. Also makes it easy to reposition for good viewing.
We have driven around with this on the dashboard to see how stable it is. It stays where it is put but when we removed it a smudged area could be seen where it sat. we were able to clean the smudge off the dashboard and will do another test to see if it leaves another smudge. If so we will return it.
this mount does away with the glue on the dash system. with the GPS on the dash board and not stuck onto the windshield, it much better seen and heard
