Read the title, please, the unit was easy to setup and it work reliably
I have a T25, use Comcast for internet only and live in Chicago suburb I would recommend this product
works great. easy setup. and now i can stop paying xfinity money for their unit.
Easy set up and made my system work faster!
ARRIS T25 is a good choice if you do not want to rent a modem from Xfinity, if you already have a good router and just need a modem approved by Xfinity capable of Xfinity Digital Voice telephone with internet speeds up to 800Mbps. Activation was easy. I text Xfinity the message ONIT, asking for "Billing" and received a call in about one minute. Have the modem wired to you computer and completely powered ON. I gave the representative the modem's MTA and HFC Mac addresses. It only took a few minutes for activation. And I did not need to download the Xfinity APP or the ARRIS APP to my phone for activation of the modem.
First off, here is how to set this up with Xfinity. Log into your online Xfinity account, and use the Chat Feature on the Support Page: Type: "agent", and then answer why you need an agent. Then choose to Chat to an Agent (do not choose the phone call as that can take longer). Give your name and Xfinity account number. Then, put in your MTA MAC number (not the HFC MAC). When the chat agent is ready, disconnect your old modem, and connect your T25 modem (make sure the coaxial cable is rotated on snugly). Everything should be disconnected from the Internet. Now, call Xfinity, (ask for "Technical Assistance" (answer questions) and ask for "Internet Connectivity Issues") and they will do a modem scan, and the robot will tell you to disconnect the power on your modem (just disconnect the power cord (on the T25) for 10 seconds, and reconnect). Choose to have them call you back in case this does not work (they will call you 10 minutes after this, to check if it works or not). Wait. All of the lights and icons will blink at different speeds over 5 minutes. Wait until the "US / DS" and the "Internet" lights turn on as solid (non-blinking). Now check your router(s) ( you may have to turn it/them off and on). When you see Ethernet / Internet button turn back to its normal light color, go to YouTube and test out a video to see how your Internet is. I am SO Happy that this works with ASUS routers, some of the other Arris Surfboards have issues with them. I highly recommend this for ASUS Internet users! Smooth Sailing or "surfing" from here! Thank you Arris!
My bill Xfinity went up in price, so I decided to buy my own modem to help lower my bill.I ain't going to lie but i seriously thought it was going to be a nightmare to setup, because usually trying to activate anything with Xfinity always ends up being a freaking hassle or a literal nightmare, but to my surprise the setup and activation was so easy to do. For activation I downloaded the Xfinity app and Arris surfboard app on Google play store. After downloading I navigated to set up a new device, from there I just followed the instructions and then the app goes in to the activation process, when finished, it activates the internet and the phone. And essentially you're done you don't have to call anyone or talk to anyone it's all done within the app. And as for performance I think it performs great for how much I paid for it and it's way better than the Xfinity modem so overall I give this modem a 8 out of 10.
Finally decided to stop paying Comcast $15 each month to rent their modem. The Arris T25 works fine and is approved by Comcast. The Comcast web site has instructions for installation. Installation did get a bit tricky (the MAC number on the modem needs to be entered and there are two of them. The first one didn't work but the second one did). So far I am satisfied.
Fauly product
as soon as I got cable connected I tested with my desk top computer and 2 routers. None were able connect to internet on either network port. The 3rd router connected at lower than 1G. Those computer and routers work fine on ATT phone modem.
