I'm very happy with this router…wayyy better then the one from the cable company
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best home Wi-Fi system I have used in my home! It's loaded with features that are necessary in today's work-from-home age. It also has excellent coverage throughout our entire home and the speeds seem very fast compared to my previous wireless router. It's very intuitive and easy to setup. I had the whole system up and running within 20 minutes. Overall, I would highly recommend this Wi-Fi system to anyone looking to upgrade their home wireless capabilities to a high-performance mesh system.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All of the dead zones in the far corners of my house are now seeing 100+Mbps wifi download speeds off of our 400Mbps broadband connection, which is the fastest we can currently get in our area. The central area of the house is seeing speeds doubled, which is also impressive. The system was easy to set up using the Maxx app and we were up-and-running in about ten minutes. After seeing the major jump in wifi speeds we fell in love with this unit. The app prioritizes my 5G which other units always latched on to my 2.5, which was a pain to manually switch it. Very happy at the ease and functionality of the ARRIS system!
I already had my Arris G36 Modem/Router installed. However, after moving from an apartment to a homev4 times larger, I needed better coverage for the WiFi. These did the trick! Just changed the G36 to bridge mode and pluggedthe two W121 routers in with cat 6 ethernet cables. Working fine for whole home WiFi, even the start garage door opener works now!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had google wifi which was a decent setup but honestly just wasn't able to deliver the speeds i wanted with all the devices i have on my network. I've got several cameras that stream to the cloud 24/7 and with all the other smart devices i use 2 terabytes a month. I know this impacts the speed overall but i was able to get about 100 mbps faster wifi compared to before. Maybe it was because my setup wasnt correct before but in the end all i care about is speed! The setup was middle of the road. It wasn't as easy as some but nowhere near the old days where it felt like you had to get lucky or bring in an expert. Overall a worthwhile buy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The SURFBoard mAX Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System isn't the first mesh system I've used in my home, nor is it the easiest to install, but it certainly is the most reliable system, and that is the most important thing to me and my family of internet users. Not only is it reliable, but it is convenient to use, and it looks pretty cool too! Like all systems like this, it does require an app, which was simple to install. Setting up the first unit was intuitive, and the step-by-step instructions on the app made it relatively foolproof, though I did have trouble getting it too connect. I'm not sure what the problem was, but after a minute or two it worked, and all seemed great. Until the second setup began, and it seemed even more finicky. It really didn't want to connect, telling me to move it closer, with better line-of-sight, all of which I had insured was the case. Just when I was getting frustrated, it connected, and again, I don't really know why. All that said, since they connected they have been rock solid. Not once have I had a single issue with connection issues, and that by far outweighs any trouble I had with their initial set up. I've had these working for a few months, and not once have them malfunctioned or need rebooting. On this point I couldn't be more impressed. The app is simple to use, and the devices are Alexa compatible. I use Alexa for most everything, but I like the SURFBoard app, so I still control my connected devices from it. I find the speeds to be accurate and reliable, no matter where I am in my home or yard. It's easy to pause or stop a device (mostly when my kids are slow to come down for dinner), and too, it's simple to set up groups (profiles) of devices so that at bedtime I can pause everything with a single click. You can enable a guest network if you have friends over and don't want them to be able to fiddle with your connected devices. On my past (non SURFBoard) mesh system, I kept my phone on my original network as it was more reliable than the mesh. Not so anymore…the SURFBoard signal is by far more reliable, even when there are multiple people downloading a streaming in all corners of my house. Again, this mesh system is there when you need it, without fail, and that is all I want. I haven't tested max speeds or anything, because I haven't had to. It is fast and reliable. And while these units are quite large compared to some others, I don't mind at all. In fact, I like the subtle blue glow at their bases, and I think the white color is modern and striking. We keep a smart home, and such are the nature of things. I'm not trying to hide anything. I very highly recommend the SURFBoard mAX Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System, without qualm. A+!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This router gives decent speeds, at least as much as my last router of a different brand. Having the satellite unit really helps with the signal strength as well. The setup wasn't as easy as I'd hoped (and I've worked in IT for 25 years). You need to make sure not to plug the satellite in before you set up the initial unit, the instructions don't mention that at all. If you do, you'll have to do a factory reset on the satellite so it isn't recognized as the primary unit. Took several tries before getting it all setup but once we did its very easy to monitor via the phone app.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this surfboard max mesh in hopes of eliminating the dead drops in our home. With kids and my spouse requiring the constant use of the wifi it was a problem that need to be eliminated asap. Thankfully it wa the set up was fairly easy over blue tooth via app. Wish it was over the internet instead but that just a preference. The connection speeds seem fast and I don't have connections issues as before.
First thing was the setup, Boy,, was that very painful. Took over 2 hours just to get the mesh system initalilizied. The Modem I bought with them worked great and ez-setup. But now that the mesh system is finally working, it seems good. Also,, not all 2.4 mhz devices will install in this new system. They may not be new enough. Time will tell.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product works ok. Not seeing any great upgrade in WiFi over the regular old system. It was difficult to set up as I am not a technical wizard. Spent hours trying to set up from first floor to the second floor. Finally got it to work after multiple attempts.
