Suspect I should order another just like the first.
This product is excellent. Hard plastic, holds a variety of sizes of spools, yet there is space between the pegs to allow you to see the color spool. Nicely made.
Great box for the tall skinny spools of threads for which I purchased it. I use another style for large spools of embroidery thread.
Needed a thread caddy, low profile and easy to see what thread you need
holds lots of spools of threads. Bummer if the spool is a large one, too big to fit close to other spools
Arrived nicely packaged....I would have enjoyed it a little more if the spokes were a little farther apart...but all in all works well, heavy casing, easy snap latches, sturdy handle, and stacks nicely too...
The only drawback to this is that there isn't an insert to hold embroidery cone thread. You can store them in this case but you are wasting space since it is really for smaller spools. I wish it came deeper for serger thread cones. I do own 4 of these and they are a good investment you can take out the thread trays and store projects.
My spools are 1 1/2" high and 1 1/4" wide, did not hold many at all. If the spindles had been a 1/4" longer and a little farther apart, would have been perfect, could have put 2 spools on each spindle and would not have had to skip a spindle to get the spools to fit. Returned it and am still looking for a box for threads.
The removable thread trays are only good for storing the smallest spools of sewing thread. If you use anything larger you can only fit less than half in the available space, and they will not remain stationary when transporting.
The spacing is atrocious. I bought this to hold my late mother-in-laws thread collection, which has a variety of spools that are not the fancy thin spools that one can buy nowadays. Look at the photograph of the item to see what I mean - the narrow spool of high-end thread. If you have those, I imagine this could work for you - but if you are organizing the old-style Coats %26 Clark type sewing thread spools, this container will not satisfy. The best you can hope for is an every-other-space arrangement. Not worth the dollars. There is a smaller box made by Dritz that works much better - I have four of those and am well pleased. Will be returning this.
