pretty,colorful and healthy salad makings
We loved this type of lettuce, but sadly this variety is no longer available in the store. Wish Walmart would carry it again!!!

Not only are the colors vibrant, but the taste is pure goodness. Crisp and delicious. The packaging and presentation is artistry in and of itself!
I love good (non-iceberg) lettuce for a salad as the only thing for dinner. I just take one of these tiny heads out of the clamshells, rinse it, twist the bottom off, tear the leaves up, and have a perfect salad base. I am sure if someone was not such a lettuce hog, one head it would be perfect for two. It keeps fresh for a long time, unlike the cut up lettuce in the bag or even the spinach leaves. Since I use it for night salad is all I am eating for dinner, I don't do it every night. Go, Walmart.
I know it's crazy to say awesome about lettuce but, this is the best hands down for cost, storing and freshness.. I bought a package of these for the first time 1 week before Christmas and did not use them till this week 3 weeks later.. I opened the package and they are just as fresh as when I bought them, try that with the bagged chopped lettuce LOL . The packaging is perfect for storing them and like the previous person said in their review I rinsed out the container and dried it and put the heads back in after taking off what I needed for my salads.. Seriously Walmart keep this product.. You get big thumbs up from me for a unique product, quality and price.. Good Job!
This is THE only way to buy lettuce! Sure, you have to rinse and cut/tear it yourself, but spin it dry and chill for a few minutes for a fresh, colorful salad. Much better than the boxes of pre-prepared greens! This is our go-to lettuce off season when we're not growing it ourselves!
The quality and the freshness are never disappointing. The size of each little head of lettuce is just perfect. Great for making a salad or just for snacking.
Currently costs $2.50 at the Springfield, Tennessee store. I have had terrible results over the years trying to keep anything but iceberg lettuce fresh after purchase. Even that spoils rather quickly. However, this combination of FOUR perfect small heads of various lettuce types is the next-best thing to picking fresh lettuce leaves from plants in the garden. When I bring this home, I remove all four lettuce heads from the package and slick a sliver off of the root end of each head. Then I run them under cold water and return them to the plastic clamshell container (which might need to be rinsed out if there is soil residue at the bottom). Then I make sure that most of the excess water is drained from the container and place it back in the refrigerator. In this way, this high-quality lettuce stays fresh for a week. When you figure how many servings you get from the one package, this is really a good value in healthy, quality food.
This is perfect if you like a variety of lettuce in your salad, especially if buying 4 separate heads or bunches won't get used up before they go bad. This product contains a good amount of lettuce, and they stay fresh twice as long as other bunches. The four heads of lettuce included in the package all taste good and can be used in salads, sandwiches or cooked in various dishes. Definitely my favorite.
