To be honest, I was not expecting much for the money but it proved me wrong! I bought it to put in a metal barn, to keep an eye on livestock ready to birth. It gave me a clear picture, clear sound, and fair color - but who needs color at this point. It is an awesome, easy to set up system. The only problem I had with it, is that it intercepted my link system. Well worth the money and piece of mind it brought me. No longer do I have to run to the barn every hour, but have 24/7 monitoring all for a fraction of a service estimate of $600.
This camera and receiver are exactly what we wanted and they perform very well ... The only downside has been the occasional interference from other 2.4GHZ items in the house such as cordless phones and bluetooth headsets ... Other than that, it's great, the mic picks up a lot of sound and the camera displays clearly in very low light situations as well ...
Satisfied with the first three weeks. This was a replacement of a lesser camera that only had 12 LED infrared sensors. This one has 27 LED's and reaches out almost twice as far as the old one in darkness. It is mounted on my front porch, three rooms away (about fifty feet) and provides my little window on the world.
The Good: Fair Price for what you get. Great night vision Easy set up Good wireless range The Bad: Totally interferes w/ my wireless router, Cannot use both at same time. A little interference w/ 2.4 cordless phone, even after adjusting camera channels.
This unit is operating as a animal control unit. It gives a wide view of the access ways where cows can slip through at night to graze along the road. A cow can do some heavy damage to a car and cause injuries. Including loss of the animal The Infra red night vision with some background lighting works best out to 200ft. Absolute darkness limits range of night vision to about 30 ft . Note: If your wireless house phone/s are at 2.4 GHz it may interfere with this system. Symptoms will be scan lines on screen, video blank when phone is dialed. to phone conversations over the camera audio. We switched to 5.8Ghz phones
So far this product has preformed well. One thing I miss with this camera is it does not have a scan for more than one camera, other than that excellent value, clear picture, good night vision. For first time users simple set up, you just need a 115 volt outlet, video in, audio in, on your tv and it's ready to go.
The Camera is about 50 foot away from the reciever and works great. There is interference sometimes in spurts. The night vision is just as good even at that distance. (with 3 concrete walls between the two.)The only thing I found wrong was that I can't get the front cover off to change the channel because it's to tight. So I can't tell if changing the channel will be better or worse. I can also hook it up to my laptop but there was way to much interference. (picture was taken with web cam and is not as good as the t.v. picture) And the sound is very sensitive)
IT WAS VERY EASY TO SET UP. JUST OPEN IT, PLUG IT UP, AND UR IN BUSSINESS! IT DOES HOWEVER, HAVE STATIC IN IT, AND I CANT HEAR VERY WELL, BUT IT WORKS FOR WHAT I NEED.
I was going to have a basic set up. I live in a townhouse and I wanted something to watch my vehicles and another in my daughters room for when she took her afternoon naps to keep an eye on her. The reception was terrable, you could not even make out what was on the screen, poor color, and the sound was shaky. Neither of the cameras were no more then 30 to 50 feet away.....
This was easy to set up and gave a great picture for a day or two, then quit working. It's advertised as weatherproof but if you look at the manual, it says to keep the camera and adapter dry. I have another Aztek non-wireless camera that's been working flawlessly for several months now, but I can't recommend this one.
