Kept dropping wifi connections with our Cox/Spectrum modem and our Linksys mesh. I replaced both, following WireCutter recommendations. Required a phone call to Asus support at one point, but they were helpful, and patient! Now we have a consistent 200-300 Mbps connection.
The single router provided by cable service did not cover iur 2400 sq ft house well. Two ASUS units gave complete coverage extending to the deck. The units were easy to set up. The app is helpful in monitoring traffic.
Working great so far! Very happy to see significantly better access in my walkout basement area. With my previous single-router system on the main level of the home, I had dead spots and/or poor wifi connectivity in parts of my walkout basement. With the ASUS ZenWiFi mesh router, I now have extremely fast performance throughout my entire basement area. Speeds are generally faster in other areas of the 2-story walkout basement home also.
These units could not have been more easy to set up. The App is quite intuitive and the operation has been seamless. I was tired of my Orbi mesh units…they needed reset nearly every week and I couldn't get another satellite to add even with their technical assistant on the line. The Orbi's did have slightly larger range then these, but I added a second satellite is minutes and have full coverage now. My system is regularly running 200mps down and 30mps up…perfect for this families needs.
Just like the maker intended it, the plug in and turn on setup was super simple! The only catch was I had to reboot my cable modem for the Router to pick up the settings. The 2nd unit which I connected by Ethernet for backhaul just worked from the get go. This is the easiest router / Wifi install and configuration I've ever done (and I've done lots). The signal strength is now great on all 3 floors of my house and speed tests are showing 330mb against my Spectrum 300mb circuit. I've even enabled Alexa access to my Router, Regardless of how technically capable you are, this is the perfect Home network solution.
I have always been impressed with Asus' quality and the performance of it's products, and their support too. As stated above, I am impressed with Asus' new router too.
It's so easy to hook up to my satellite modem. Really helps the wifi at the back of my one story home. Very satisfied with my two ASUS, one connected to the modem and the other at the back of the house. Big improvement at the back of the house!!!
This unit is a little pricey, but it is worth every penny. Get the app and do all the original setup, then move on to the web UI to get into the advanced configuration which is truly remarkable in terms of included, free features. Very impressive. Great job ASUS.
Super easy set up. Strong, fast signal throughout home on all 3 bands. Efficient, effective auto channel switching.
Signal strong and uniform through 3200' house and outside, through hurricane glass and concrete walls, across the pool and to the far side of the property. Previous routers had problems getting signal outside. I was considering hiring electrician to install a hard-wired outdoor connection point. A friend suggested this tri-band. This solved all with less cost and disruption. Wish I had done this years ago.
