The same brand "Atwoods" is $50 instock in the boating isle. This one was half that price with free site to store shipping.Yes the connection to the gas could have been made thicker as to not to break so easy and its still hard to pay that much for basically a 6 gal gas jug.
Good tank, but pick-up tube breaks off in tank easily, so if you want to be stranded out in the middle of the lake with a full tank of gas, go buy it. Manufacturer has a part, but Wal-Mart doesn't stock it. I have bought 2 tanks and both of them did the same thing. Broke off inside tank. Tried glue, but won't hold up with gasoline. Good luck if you buy one.
The vent cap on this product is junk and the plastic is junk (I have only had my tank for a year and it has rarely been in the sun and is faded and rough looking). I live in Florida and the weather here is very hot. This tank does not vent well and fuel stays under pressure and leaks from the the base of the cap (while under pressure), therefore I am constantly losing fuel by evaporation. The vent cap is manual (which I leave open) and is junk, (it recently expanded so much the plastic tank cracked open)!!! I would not recomment buying this tank unless a better vent is installed.
