Do you own an Audio Technica AT-LP60 or AT-PL50 turntable? If it's time to replace the needle, you need this replacement needle or stylus as it is called in the industry. To remove old stylus (needle), hold the cartridge in 1 hand, grasp the plastic stylus housing with thumb and forefinger and pull away from the cartridge. The stylus assembly comes away at a slight angle, as indicated by the arrow. To install replacement stylus, insert the new stylus assembly into the cartridge at a slight angle, so the hook at the end of the stylus fits into the slot in the cartridge body. The stylus assembly should click into place when fully seated on the cartridge. The stylus must be fully seated on the body for proper operation. Audio Technica has been refining the art of transducer technology since their first handcrafted phono cartridge in 1962.

To remove the old needle, hold the capsule in one hand, hold the plastic body of the needle with your thumb and index finger and release it from the capsule The needle assembly loosens when slightly tilted as indicated by the arrow To install the replacement stylus, insert the new needle assembly into the capsule at a slightly inclined angle, so that the hook at the end of the needle enters the capsule body fitting The needle assembly should enter the position with one click when fully seated on the capsule. The needle must be fully seated on the body to function properly Height: 10.5 cm

It's a needle. It does the job of transmogrifying record groove vibrations into an electrical signal the amp involved can do something with. Seriously folks its a phonograph needle. If Audio Technica didn't know what they were doing they would have folded out of a niche market at best long ago.

Did not fit, broke needle trying to follow everyone advice to keep trying. It is as close to fitting without "clicking in" on the turntable setup I use. Since it the needle broke trying to put on, I figure I'm SOL for a refund, so I just ordered the ATN3600 (no L), and hoping this fits. I noticed inside the casing on the one I'm trying to replace, there are little rectangular dents which have a number printed on it. I noticed the one I ordered did not have that extra space. So hopefully this new order works. But otherwise I'm giving this a 1 star because of how deceiving it is that this is the proper replacement... and now I have to go another week without vinyl. :(
