Thank you so much for carrying these freeze dried peas. They are great for snacking as well as cooked. Great value! I use them in soups as well as just straight.
We use these peas all of the time in soups, in stews, chicken pot pies, as a side dish, or just to snack on out of the can. Great item for the pantry! Great Price too.
We only have a smallfreezer, solimited freezer space. Freeze dried is the answer1 And what if there is a power failure? Freeze dried gives us peace of mind.

Forget the emergencies! These peas are fabulous, I am thrilled with the taste, consistency, ease of cooking, no extra :salt-sugar-preservatives, that are in canned foods. They cook up to a really good texture, help with fiber. I can not say enough good things about them. While they may be more expensive that canned veggies, they are so much more natural.
Due to health, I can't shop often, so these dried foods are a godsend. I have been pleasantly surprised by the taste & quality of Augason Farms. The peas are the best yet! They taste just as good as frozen, and I will keep ordering them. Their potato products, onions, eggs and soup mix are all great, too. I highly recommend them to anyone needing easy groceries & storage.

These peas are just like the fancy frozen peas you'll find in the grocery freezer; or certain canned brands. The small size is well welcomed as it increases it's usage, as it's needed when making dips and salads -- like the imitation crab meat salads that often include peas -- for example. Nitrogen packed ensures the flavor isn't lost despite it's not a traditionally canned or frozen product. This is a major problem with regular packed dried products designed to be stored on shelves (canned or dehydrated split peas, for example), they lose flavor quickly as it's not purged of the oxygen. I'm finding because of this special packing the flavor is also double the intensity, too. So these peas not only will taste fresh, it won't resemble hard plastic or soggy mush when cooked, either. They are a bright lime green in color, no yellowish-green color that can be seen in freezer burned peas; or in canned peas. Visually and palate pleasing. We cook these directly in the microwave, no soaking needed. It goes great with the other Augason veggies, like onions and bell peppers, to make various traditional dishes and salads.
