When this arrived, I was surprised at how heavy it was. I opened the box and was impressed a the workmanship applied to this kitchen, bar, kids room, laundry room, basements...you name it and this Top Loading Countertop Water Cooler Disperser is a true asset for so many needs. Okay, I am embarrassed at letting you know this but...when I placed my order for this, I actually thought the water bottle came with it! I know...talk about boy just off the farm, it was me! So, you will need to either sign up or go and find a 10 gallon water bottle/disperser to fit on top of the disperser. There was virtually nothing to put together...ai huge pus! Also, this does not attach to your sink plumbing, which is why you need the added water. It must be close to an electrical receptacle as it needs plugged in as it generates hot water. This product is amazing. I use it all the time and the cost of the water was like $10.00...so much cheaper than bottled water and just as good. The one spiggot is colder than cold and the other spiggot is very hot for tea, instant oatment, soups, etc. You will find yourself using this more and more every week. Easy to clean and to maintain. I looks great as well. I am extremeley pleased with my water disperser and you will be.
works as advertised. hot water was hot, cold water was cold
The Avalon premium hot/cold top loading counter top water cooler dispenser is very convenient. The hot water heats water to approximately 185 degrees F/ 85 degrees C which is very hot and can scald. Avalon has thought of this and there is a child safety lock. With proper supervision and/or instruction on using this appliance safely, children 8 years old and up as well as the elderly or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities can use this. The cold water is very cold, colder than the water that I get from my refrigerator door, so this will be wonderful this summer. Since it is winter now, I do not want ice-cold water and that is where the best feature of this appliance is for me. The appliance is energy star rated but even better than that, I can turn off the cooling feature that makes ice-cold water by flipping a switch. The appliance is still on as that is the great because I can still dispense the cold water, but instead of it being really cold, it is more like room temperature which is perfect at this time of year. I can do this with the hot water as well to save energy. At night, I flip the hot water switch off so it is not heating water all night for no reason, and then first thing in the morning, I flip the hot water switch to on and within a few minutes, I have steaming hot water for hot tea or coffee or cocoa. It is fantastic! The 3 or 5 gallon bottle did not come with the appliance, so I had to go to a grocery store and buy one which I can reuse, so that was a one-time purchase. It is important to remember that with a 5-gallon bottle attached, you need clearance of about 3 feet in height on the counter with an electric outlet nearby. I do wish the paddles that you press your cup against were a bit longer so that I do not have to hold the cup while the water is dispensed. It is easier if you can rest your cup on the water collection tray like on my refrigerator door. Overall, this is a wonderful addition to your home or office.
This countertop hot and cold water dispenser was super-easy to set up! It is important to read the included brief instruction manual (taped to the top) before using as, there is a step that needs to be completed prior to plugging in the machine. The instruction manual was easy to follow: brief, large print and lots of pictures. The dispenser ships in a box which just needs the top of the box removed; do not tilt the dispenser -- it should remove easily from the cut-away box after snipping off the plastic shipping ties. This dispenser did not come with a water bottle so I headed over to my local Walmart and found an American Maid BPA-free, 3-gallon reusable square jug (can also use a 5-gallon jug) with reusable lid and easy-grip handle for less than $6.00 (FIND MY JUG HERE: www.walmart.com/ip/3-Gallon-Stackable-Water-Bottle/180676866). The dispenser with this 3-gallon jug on top measures 34" tall. I also purchased three 1-gallon bottles of water, filled up my new 3-gallon reusable jug and popped it onto the dispenser. After following the instructions and performing the pre-startup functions, I plugged in the machine and it seemed like the hot and cold water were instantaneous! It is so nice to have pre-chilled water on demand and readily available for morning smoothies. As well, I have now converted over to drinking healthier tea instead of waiting for coffee to brew now that the hot water is on demand as well. There are two switches on the left side of the machine for the user to turn off either the hot (red), cold (blue) or both functions. This is a great feature for someone who only uses one of the two functions periodically. Honestly, there is no reason to keep them both on all of the time unless you use it frequently as, once turned on, hot and cold water is pretty much instantaneous. The machine is quiet, perhaps a slight hum and cycles through cooling and warming each side so that you water is the right temperature when you want it. This dispenser comes with a removable water collector. With the water collector in place, a 7" travel mug will not fit/sit by itself under the taps. This isn't really an issue for me as, I just tilt my mug while pressing against the tap and it fills up fast. It's a little bit more cumbersome with the hot water feature due to the child safety lock, but can still be done. Note that the water is HOT and the user's tall mug will get hot to the touch while filling. The water collector can always be removed in the event the user wants to fit/sit a taller mug under the tap. My recommendation to the manufacturer would be to take taller travel mugs into consideration so that they can sit on the water collector without the user having to hold and tilt the mug while filling. I am extremely happy with this dispenser especially now that I have converted to tea because of this great new appliance. I would recommend it for home, dorm, school, office. This item is ENERGY STAR compliant and is manufactured in China. This item is recommended for children age 8 and above only if trained on how to use this dispenser safely.
I drink a lot of water and I also enjoy a nice hot cup of tea, in the morning. I thought having a hot/cold water dispenser might be very convenient and so I was interested in trying this Avalon Premium Hot/Cold Top Loading Countertop Water Cooler Dispenser out, for review. First of all, I would like to say that I have a bad back, but was able to lift this dispenser, by myself. The dispenser will take a 3 gallon or 5 gallon bottle of water. Because of my back issue, I chose to get a 3 gallon bottle and was able to load it, by myself. I don't think I could manage a 5 gallon bottle, someone would have to load it for me. The dispenser arrived, without a bottle, which was a big disappointment. Since the photo of the dispenser included a bottle, I thought the dispenser would come with a bottle. Apparently, I was mistaken, as the dispenser does not come with a bottle. However, it was not difficult to find a bottle, online. The dispenser is easy to set up. First, is to load the bottle and make sure water comes from the hot water tap, THEN plug the dispenser in. Next, switch the hot and cold water on. The buttons are conveniently located, on the side of the dispenser. The hot and cold water spouts each have easy to use paddles. The water is dispensed by pressing a cup against each paddle. The hot water spout has a red child safety lock button on it, which needs to be pressed, before the hot water will be released. The dispenser may hold a filter bottle, too, if you choose to use one. My dispenser unit is kept on my breakfast island, where I have the most room, right now. The dimensions are 12"x12"x19" and it complies with Energy Star standards. I thought it might be noisy, but it's not, which is great. The cold water spout dispenses nice, cold water, without having to use ice cubes. The hot water is very hot, which makes a great cup of tea and saves some time, in the morning! Very handy!
I'm glad I bought it! Easy access to cold and hot water! Buy the Walmart Top tank with filter to go with this. It's better than buying the filled jugs.
we have been using this dispenser for a couple of weeks now and it is a wonderful addition to our kitchen! i love that it is shiny piano black and matches all of my appliances. depending on what you need it will hold a 3 or 5 gallon water jug. FYI - It does not come with the water jug like it is shown in the picture on the box so you do need to purchase that but they are easily found. our boys love being able to get a drink of water all by themselves and if you have younger kids in the home the hot water side has a child proof button that keeps kids from burning themselves. it makes a nice steaming cup of hot tea much quicker than waiting for water to boil. and the cold water side chills the water perfectly! it has a water catch tray at the bottom which is a great feature to have in case of accidental spills along with lights on the front. it shows power then heating then chilled water. if the light is lit it means its still heating or cooling the water. it will really come in handy when the weather gets warmer and my guys are in and out of the house wanting a drink! this unit is top notch and I highly recommend it! it's convenient, easy to use, perfect size for the counter because it takes up less space.
This unit is perfect for the kitchen counter top as it measures a foot square at the base and stands 19 inches tall. It won't fit under your counter but with a 3-gallon bottle on top the profile is fairly small. Five gallon bottles will also work with this unit as it's plenty sturdy. There are 7 inches of clearance under the water outlet so beware super tall travel cups will have to be angled under to fill. Temperature readings at the spout were 50 degrees for cold and 180 for hot. That's fine but you can adjust the temps by removing the back cover and turning the thermostat with a flat bladed screwdriver. It has a nice large removable drip tray which is dishwasher safe. The paddles are a great size and easy to see and operate. The hot side has an awesome child safety feature to prevent burns. You'll notice the hot and cold lights are only on when the unit is heating or cooling the water so don't think it turned off as the green light will stay lit. It comes in white or black to match any kitchen décor. I've been using this bad boy for cups of beef broth, hot chocolate and oatmeal to get through the cold season and it has performed wonderfully. It gets a nightly work out adding hot water to my dogs kibble for their dinners, they love it as well!
Slightly noisy. Water flow pretty decent but not as cold as my other dispenser.
I ordered black paying a slightly higher price for the black but you sent white.
