This dryer is awesome I have had it for almost 1 month and I love it. Fits in my bathroom over the toilet I paired it with the matching stand and it's perfect. I can dry a queen quilt in it with no problem .. It's just perfect for my family of 3 and a god sent not having to go to the laundry mat anymore .
Having always used full size dryers in the past I was sceptical whether this small appliance would work so well. Moving into the small apartment without room for full size left me to give it a try. I also have the small washer, the loads sizes of the washer match the load size for the dryer. I am very satisfied. No more going to the laundry mat except for Bed quilts and such. It will pay for itself in no time.
I purchased this dryer for a small NYC apartment. It definitely sets of some heat and humidity, but it's so easy to control with a slightly open window. Also dries very well and is pretty quiet. I was able to dry 2 loads of laundry (Haier 1.46 cu ft washer) in one cycle by opening door and taking out dry items/ adding the wet ones. Easy to set up/operate for a woman. Very happy with the performance and purchase in general. I've used it only once so far, but gave 5 stars for durability so that not to ruin its overall rating. hope it' ll last for a while.
Excellent dryer. All the reviews I read said that it took 2 plus hours for drying. My clothes dried in a 1/2 hour. I dried 2 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, 10 pairs of boxers and 5 pairs of socks in that time. There was plenty of room for more clothes but I did not want to surpass the 9 lbs. limit. Pants were slightly wrinkled, but not bad. Shirts were not wrinkled at all. All in all, it is a great little dryer.
Has been working for a month and a half with no problems at all. It does 2 pair of heavy jeans, or 4 large bath towels, or 6 tee shirts and 6 underwear at a time. The unit works well and does not over heat the area appreciably. The filter is a little hard to clean, and the venting system could be better. It has an oblong outlet. The only hose I could find was round. You have to "juryrig" the hose to fit the outlet on the dryer and I used Gorilla tape to seal the hose to the wall outlet. The timed drying doesn't work, but I don't go away from the unit while it is in use, so I pull laundry out as it dries. The wall hangers seem precarious, but seem to hold the unit on the wall just fine. There is no wobbling around on the wall, with large loads, and it is fairly quiet.
I bought this for a travel trailer I live in for work during the week. I paired it with the Haier 1cu ft washing machine. This dryer holds a little more then the washing machine can wash, and dries a 'full load' from the Haier in about 40-50 minutes on LOW heat. I am very impressed by its operation. It is small, efficient, but works its little butt off. This is my a toy dryer. It had a 3inch vent so plan on picking up an adapter from hardware store if you use it with a standard 4inch. I have it set to vent outside my trailer, but there are indoor vent kits you can buy as well if you don't mind the extra heat and humidity (maybe great in winter). I would recommend this to anyone living in a small efficient way, wether travel trailer, mobile home or apartment. I intend to design a cabinet for it to sit in above the washing machine, but they make a good metal rack for it to sit on that's sold seperatly. If you don't have mounting plans in mind, do yourself the favor and pick it up for $65. Pick up an extra flexible 8-12ft 3inch dryer hose if you don't have venting, and just hang that badboy out a window. Better yet design a board to fit under your window, and cut a hole in it for the vent! Enjoy the awesome dryer folks!
I love this little dry, when i first got it i thought it was not going to work very good cause it looks small. But boy was I wrong. This is an amazing dryer, it dries better than the big dryers in the laundry room of my building. I had used it to dry big towels and jeans an its done in under an hour.
This dryer is small and cute and dries clothes well. However, it takes a long time if you put too much in. By too much I mean 3 pairs of jeans vs 2. If you put just a couple of items that rotate loosely, they dry faster. I had to return it as I need something slightly bigger. It took me all day to dry clothes as I could only dry them in very small batches. Because of its small size, clothes also come out wrinkled. This is best for a single person without too much to dry or for baby clothes or underwears, shirts, light clothes or a few t-shirts. I could only dry two pair of jeans and it dried them well, but they came out wrinkled. I guess I'll spend the extra money and buy a kenmore portable dryer that is 3.4 cubic feet. I used to have one and sold it when I moved. I've regreted it ever since.
I live in an apartment that doesn't have washer and dryer hookups. The Avanti 9-lb Automatic Dryer is the perfect companion to my Haier portable washer. The dryer handles the same size load as the washer. It has variable heat settings and you can choose either the automatic dry cyle or timed cycle similar to a regular size dryer. The filter does need to be cleaned after each load. Which is a bit harder to do compared to a regular size dryer. The drying time is about 30 to 45 minutes longer compared to a regular size dryer. I would definetly recommend this dryer.
I am a new mother to two beautiful babies! With motherhood comes new responsibility...such as tons of laundry! Being that I live in a small condo, I was in need of a portable washer & dryer. I was so happy with my washer (Magic Chef) but I can not say the same about this Avanti dryer. After purchasing this product, I did about 5 loads in a 2 week period. After two weeks, I come home to a non-working dryer! Not a happy customer! My boyfriend and I go through the process of calling the company so they can send in a repair man. Once he arrives, he tells us that if he opens the dryer, that it'll void any warranty we have-_- at this point I tell him not to touch the dryer as I will be returning it to wal mart. He tells me that they stopped working on these avanti products 2 years ago!! Reason being that they were ALWAYS breaking down and it became more expensive for "them" to maintenance! Crazy! Please, do not even bother with this dryer! Stick to Magic Chef! I now have that and it's WAY BETTER!!!
