“I'm a member of the Crowdtap Aveeno® rewards program, and Aveeno® sent me a sample of its PROTECT + HYDRATE LOTION SUNSCREEN WITH BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30 to review.” It works great. I would like to see it for oil-prone skin though. Over-all it had great protection.
Finally, after 28 years I found a sublock that doesn't give me massive rashes, bloated eyes and itchy skin. And best of all, works perfect! Thank you Aveeno!
This is a great product. I have sensitive skin and hate the burning/stinging sensation that goes along with high SPF sunscreens...no burn with this product whatsoever! Unfortunately, it has the same qualities that most physical blockers do - doesn't absorb into skin very well and has a white appearance that makes you look funny. After trying numerous sensitive skin sunscreens, I can say this one stands out as being far better than the competition!
My Plastic surgeon recommended a product that contains Zinc Dioxide and Titanium Dioxide and this one contains both; I use this on my face under my make up and have never had a problem with it; it never dried my skin and I am happy with it.
I'm a member of the Crowdtap Aveeno® rewards program, and Aveeno® sent me a sample of its PROTECT + HYDRATE LOTION SUNSCREEN WITH BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30 to review. I have oily acne prone skin and I look for non greasy non-comedogenic products that wont clog my pores, I love this lotion because its what I was looking for. Lightly scented and doesnt leave a white cast after application.
I react to avobenzone, which is in the vast majority of sunscreens on the market. This product does not contain avobenzone, and it therefore allows me to spend a significant amount of time in the sun. It lasts well; I use it for kiteboarding in the ocean, which subjects my skin to salt, surf, sand, wind, and hours of sun at a time. I do have to reapply every 90-120 minutes, but that's not a problem considering how well it works otherwise. All physical blockers containing zinc or titanium dioxide will be visible on the skin. This is the nature of the product. That said, this product absorbs well if applied carefully. I generally apply twice, making sure to give it time to be absorbed. Overall, it works better than any competing product, for my specific needs.
I really like that this product doesn't have the 'smell' of sunscreen lotions which makes it possible for me to use as an everyday sun protector. I love that it's lightweight. Overall it's a good product, but it does make me break out.
I feel compelled to report both the good and the bad about this product. I used Aveeno sun protection all last summer, and it worked great! Recently I replaced my depleted supply with this Natural Protection stuff (which I applied for the first time yesterday before walking around at a street festival in my community). First off...the good news: I didn't burn. Now for the bad news: this lotion did not absorb into my skin. I was embarrassed to notice (while in public) that it left a thick, chalky-looking coating on my skin which not only made me look juvenile but also transferred to everything else that touched my skin. When I got out of the sun and indoors, I found this chalky film all over my camera, my shorts, and my purse. I would not purchase this lotion sunscreen again, and honestly I don't know if I will ever use it again (unless I'm wearing my throw-away clothes while doing yard work).
I applied this sunblock all over before driving to a pool about 15 minutes away. After one hour of swimming and reading in the sun, I reapplied. Half an hour later I left the pool, making my total time in the sun 1.5 hours with two sunscreen applications. I am now applying aloe because I am very, very burnt! This sunblock says 80 minutes of protection and I reapplied after only 60 minutes and still am burnt. I don't recommend this product to anyone, and I will no longer be trusting my skin's health to Aveeno.
I bought this product 2 days ago and I wasn't satisfied with my purchased. the sunscreen made my skin look ashy and dry. also if you are a dark color tone of skin this sunscreen doesn't blend in easily, I looked like ghost. Also when u first apply it on your face it leaves clumps and it feel like u have dirt on your face. I have sensitive skin and it made me breakout not a whole lot but looks like a small rash and my skin doesn't feels soft and it looks and feels dry.
