My kids have eczema and this is what their pediatrician suggested we buy. So we did, and I have to say I'll continue to use it every summer! It's smooth and smells really good. I didn't expect it to smell so nice. It didn't make my kids eczema worse which is what most products do.
One day I became allergic to sunscreen (my derm says we can develop an allergy at any time for no reason) after using it for decades. The sunscreen caused burning and blistering and when it cleared, my skin peeled like a laser treatment. Anyway, I searched for sunscreen with titanium dioxide (dermatoligist recommended) and this came up. It works wonders. I mix a little touch of liquid makeup in it and it actually makes a great coverup as well as protecting the skin. Please, Aveeno, never discontinue this product!
My son has eczema, extremely sensitive skin, and alot of allergies. He is 5 now, so for 4 years now, we have used colloidal oatmeal for his skin and it is the best thing I have ever tried and I have tried everything. The spf covers great, just reapply ever couple hours. Coverage is great. I would love this product in a spray too!!! Hint hint
We bought this for my daughter before heading to the beach this summer it was recommended to me and so we tried it can I tell you how great this was, yes it was very thick but it worked wonders my daughter never got burnt at all anywhere and we were at the beach a lot! I recommend this!!
I'm from Canada it sells for $23 cdn, and I bought it the first time to try since it is a physical sunscreen not the chemical sunscreen that I'm allergic to due to oxybenzone content. It is the best sunscreen I'd ever used because I can actually go out into the sun now without being scared I'll get itchy and burning rashes on my exposed skin for the next 3-4 days. Like all physical sunscreens, it leaves a white cast on the skin and it needs to be applied more frequently than chemical sunscreens. This isn't a problem for me at all, just always apply this in front of a mirror to get even application on face and body. This sunscreen is not oily and it feels great on my skin. I went to US last year and I bought 3 bottles of this before heading back to Canada. The price is fantastic compared to Canada, most absurd thing is it is made in Canada...
I'm a big fan of Aveeno products and find the majority to be safe and effective for my family. I did find this sunscreen worked well but the grease left behind was overwhelming. It was on my hands even after washing twice. You could see it as though I'd put my hands in oil. Maybe it was a bad batch? I'm not really sure. No one had a bad reaction or got a burn which is truly the important part but I couldn't tolerate the texture overall and won't be using it again.
I don't have kids myself but my nieces and nephews have sensitive skin shopping around for sensitive skin product was pretty hard. This product stood out to me for obvious reasons ($$)The kids they all loved it, no reaction or rashes which is obviously awesome. It's great trying a brand the first time and loving it the first time. No need to try to find something else.
This is the one and only sunscreen we've found on the market that my child does not have an allergic reaction too. The only down side is that it makes her look a little white...but it's expected since it's zinc and titanium formula. Thank you Aveeno for coming out with this product!
My son would get bad rashes to other natural sun screens. I wanted something natural without the chemicals and he does great with this sunscreen. No rashes! I put it on 20 mins before we got in the pool swam for 2 hours protected him very well! I agree with the other reviews that it does have a little white but so do all natural sunscreens with Zinc Oxide.
I usually love ALL Aveeno products , but not the case with this product. Works well but the only downside is that it leaves my child extremely dusty and chalky looking from the residue...new formula please without the chalky residue.
