I bought magnet paper to make magnets for the women in my church. They are lightweight and easy to mail. No extra postage needed. Ink didn't smear on matte finish.
I wanted to make coffee airpot labels that we could update with the date and the time the coffee was brewed. The solutions online were expensive and unattractive. So I created my own design in Microsoft Publisher and printed it on these Avery 3270 Magnet Sheets and laminated the front with Avery 73601 Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets. I bought some China marking pencils (used to be called grease pencils) to write the date and time on the labels. The labels look great, and are easy to update (just wipe off the old date and time with a paper towel).
So easy to use!! Made labels for the job board, a bulletin board and the schedule board. Couldn't have been easier!
I actually bought this a few times at Hobby Lobby then got a few here and they are all the same even if it is a different brand. This will only work in a printer that does NOT curl the paper in a tight curve. The paper took ink really well but I do suggest that you turn up the ink to its highest level and increase the dry time or hit it with a hair dryer, the paper did not curl or peel away from the magnet and I have cut it into stencils several times with much success. I have used a clear coat on some to put on stickers for my car and that worked really well.
These worked great for us. We set up our page to be printed with word processor. We tested its print output on paper, then used the magnet sheets. We used an Epson Workforce printer. The sheets were fed in thru the back paper feed slot. The printing (low resolution color pictures and printing) came out looking as good on the magnet sheets as they did on paper. Then, we cut out for the six individual pictures on each sheet (11 sheets, 66 pictures with captions) with our paper cutter. To have this done at a print shop would have been over a hundred dollars.
I'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about. These magnet sheets are great! They hold the ink well. The colors are vibrant and the black ink is dark. I tried sheets from sellers on eBay, and they were horrible. The gloss sheets did not hold the ink well (the black ink still smears after a week of drying) and the colors were dull. The black color looked faded no matter how much I changed the settings. Avery matte magnet sheets, on the other hand, work great! They fed through both of my printers (Lexmark and Canon) with no problem. And, I can cut them to 2x2 inches square and they stick just fine to the fridge. The thickness is perfect for what I am using them for. I would not hesitate to buy them again and again!
These worked well for their intended purpose. I had a little difficulty feeding them into the printer due to their thickness but once inside they worked well. Much cheaper than Staples pricing.
This is a great fun thing. The only thing I don't like is that if these get wet they run (because I use an inkjet printer at my house, but a laser printer might not make the ink run). I have found that a sheet of adhesive laminate, or even just some high quality packing tape helps this a lot as long as they are kept indoors. It's a super fun item to play with. You can create really good magnets for a party and put them in gift bags (my sister creates gift bags for kids who go to her daughter's birthday party). Goes along great with the "make your own stickers."
I received my product and printed it out and all looked until I went to put my product up. When I tried putting it up no matter where I tried putting it up it didn't stay up....
I returned this item for a full refund. The backing would not come off the magnet sheet preventing you from attaching it to anything.
