We purchased this online along with the crib as a combo set for our little one. We couldn't be happier with the overall product and the finish. I will say that the crib is much easier to put together, but if you have help, two people could easily figure out how to put it together, even though it is a little time consuming. Like others have said, the pieces aren't labeled, so make sure you have a day to work on it because it isn't as quick as putting up the crib. The labor pays off because the finished product looks wonderful with the rest of the set, and its much sturdier than i had originally expected. I am 5'7 and the changing table isn't too short or too tall, its perfect height with a changing pad. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a complete nursery look and feel! :)
It took my husband and I about 2 hours and 30 minutes to put the dresser together. It was more difficult than the Cadence crib. The drawers are the most time consuming part. Just like the crib, the pieces are not marked well so you have to rely on the pictures in the directions when you are putting it together. Definitely worth the time. It is a beautiful and functional piece of furniture!
I had a really hard time deciding on a nursery set for our baby that is due in September. I had finally put one on our registry at Babies R Us and figured if we got it then great and if not we would buy it after our shower. We also realized we need a very reliable and certified etc. set but at the same time we didn't want to spend a fortune. After reading some blogs I found out that this set was the same as the Davinci Kalani that we liked at Babies R Us, but just with a different name on it and a cheaper price tag! I was sold right away! We did the site to store option and it took about 2 weeks to get all the pieces in which was fine because we were in no rush. We picked it up and put it together this past weekend and it was pretty simple. The crib was very easy but the dresser was a bit more challenging until you get going. None of the pieces were labled with a letter as the instruction guide said they were. Other than that no complaints. The Espresso color is gorgeous and not to dark, more of a dark cherry.
This dresser is exactly as it shows in the picture for color. I thought it would match the Cadence crib but it's not an exact match - it's fairly close but I wish it was a little darker. This dresser took hours to put together but was fairly simple and only occasionally did I need help holding a few pieces together while I was putting in screws. There's just a lot of pieces and screws - make sure you have an electric drill/screwdriver when putting it together otherwise it would have taken me much longer! I was not impressed by the drawer rails - there's a little too much give in the drawers for my liking but they're still decent gliding rails but they seem like they'll bend if they're put under too much stress. Regardless of it's flaws it's still a fairly nice looking piece and the drawers are large to hold lots of clothing so it's a decent value for the money. I am purchasing some drawer dividers/containers for all baby's small things.
After months of surfing the web I finally order this. I already had order the baby mod crib and loved it. This does take a lot of time to put together so make sure you have nothing else to do for the afternoon. All and all the color is perfect (espresso) and it is pretty sturdy. My only complaint is and I'm sure that most of the changing table combos are like this. The bottom to the drawers are flimsy so I will be putting in some sort of reinforcement so that when the clothes get heavier they don't sag. Other then that I am completely happy with this Baby Mod product.
The dresser is very nice, but I wish the bottom of the drawers were made of something more than a thin particle board (its rather flimsy). The sides and back of the drawers are more solid (not sure if its real wood or pressed board, but the pieces are 1/2 inch thick, whereas the bottoms are probably 1/16 of an inch only). The directions are rather confusing (one step went all the way from the base to a completed dresser, so it was hard to follow). We figured it out though, but take your time and review the diagram closely before getting started.
The dresser looks nice and the frame seems to be sturdy. The inside of the drawers and the drawer hardware could be better for the price. I was hoping this would last as long as the crib (once switched to a day bed and then full size bed) but I am a little worried that it won't.
Nice piece of furniture, although it was time consuming to put together. Has a few scratches and we need to have them replaced. The box was tore open in two places when we picked it up from the store, not sure if that is how it got scratched.
My husband and I purchased this dresser because it matched the used set we had already purchased. We purchased from Walmart rather than through other online options because they had the best deal. Walmart estimated the delivery date 2 days earlier that the delivery company so we received it later than expected. Dresser was in good condition when we received it. It took my husband about 2 hours to assemble it. During assembly the dresser started to get scratched. When I was trying to decide which dresser to purchase many of the dressers from newborn sets had complaints about scratches. This one didnt seem as bad from the reviews I read but unfortunately it does scratch easily too.
I bought this set almost 2 years ago. Initially, I wrote a positive review. I love the color; it is adorable with the bedding that I picked out. I spent a lot of time researching furniture via the web and I thought that this was a great deal. About 9 months after we started using the changing table it started falling apart. The drawers are so flimsy that they bow from usuage. They are not packed full with clothing! We have tried and tried to reinforce, but it doesn't matter, they still fall out! Now the screws are stripped. The same thing has happened to the drawer that goes under the crib. I never expected for this set to last a lifetime or anything, but it would have been nice if it would have at least lasted until my daughter was out of the toddler bed. I bought this set because I felt like it was gender neutral and could be used for additional children, but their is NO WAY!!! After 2 years, i would advise anyone that is considering purchasing Baby Mod to save yourselves the headache and frustrationa and buy something else.
