We purchased this crib because it was affordable, stylish, and high quality. After putting it together and inspecting it, I am very happy with this purchase. Even though it is a "mini-crib" and it is smaller than a traditional crib-- it's still plenty big for your baby. I know my son would have still fit in it at 2 years old, so it's plenty big for full usage and won't have to be replaced. The wood is solid, the crib is sturdy, and it looks impressive. The only "Con" and why I gave it a 4 star on Value is that while you save on the crib cost, the mattress they provide is really not sufficient for daily use. So, you should plan to buy a real mattress, and because they are a special size, they usually cost between $80-100... so when you factor that it, it's only marginally less expensive. Even with that, we were happy to buy the mattress and still think this crib was a great investment. A huge PRO for short people-- this crib makes it very easy to pick up and lay down your baby. Since the drop sides are always being recalled, I felt much better buying a lower crib that I can reach in without having moving sides. This crib works perfectly. Bedding is hard to find in stores, so plan to buy online. I purchased through BabyEarth and they had some great deals and really nice organic cotton velour fabrics.
I love our crib! If you're looking for a crib that'll fit in your bedroom but still be able to hold its own in a nursery, this is the crib for you! I know so many parents who have their babies sleeping in pack n plays, but why when there are mini cribs like these! It was easy to assemble, a great height for using to change baby's diapers, and it's the perfect size! When I see full-size cribs now, I think what a waste of space! This mini crib is small enough for a squirmy baby without him/her feeling like they're floating in space and it's big enough for a toddler! I put my 2 year old in it and he fit perfectly! If we ever want our son to have his own room, it'll still be beautiful and leave lots of space in the room for play, other furniture, or whatever! I highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!
We wanted a crib that would fit in a small space and also through door ways. We didn't want a portable crib because we use it daily. It is sturdy and easy to put together. With four kids and two still in cribs it is great. We did buy a thicker mattress just for more comfort. The one they send is a bit too thin. The other great thing is it turns into a toddler bed. We just need to buy the rails for that. We know it will last us a while. We love this bed!
Would recommend it to any one with or with~out a small space. It's small & neat it's real sturdy & it looks good. Most of all it's simple to put together just don't get the small screws mixed up with the long screws but other then that it's super simple. We're not gonna use the mattress it came with we just put it on for now. What we did was buy a regular size crib mattress (cuz it's alot cheaper) take the cover it comes with off & measured it against the one it originally comes with & then take your time to cut it with a electric knife cutter. When you do it like that you have to then cut and sew the cover so it could fit to size cuz the mattress we'll be smaller. Sewing doesn't have to be all that cuz anyways your gonna put a crib sheet over it. Me and my wifey are real happy with the this crib and can't wait to put our baby in it for the first time.
I LOVE this crib, and it took me over six months to decide on what would work perfect for our bedroom and eventually our baby's own room after we move. We are in 1000 sq feet (3 bdrm) and this crib was for our 3 child!! We needed space. I checked into the Badger Basket Bassinet (the round one) and the Eddie Bauer Bassinet, and the Mini-Co Sleeper, and what not. Don't EVEN WAIST your time with those!! You will only use them for 2 months maybe 3 if your lucky. So I decided on this mini crib. I thought that at worst come to shove..I'll use it as a bassinet because it matched the decor of my master bdrm, then I would put it away and use it later as a twin bed. But no WAY am I putting this thing away.. It's beautiful...looks chunky like the bigger exspensive cribs and built very nicely with real wood. My husband put it together, but didn't seem to have any problems ..but he followed the directions. The crib doesn't look cheap and is WAYY better than the hotel port-a-cribs that are metal and wobbly or a pack n play. This worked perfect in our bdrm..and now our daughter, Mara is in her own room now ..and the crib is beautiful. I will NEVER waist my money on a full size crib again. We will be having our third baby in the summer and I definitly plan on getting another mini-crib to match our daughter's... She's one now and fits perfectly in the crib. She loves it, and it doesn't seem to small for her at all. She seems to prefer it over my friends' larger crib. It's very study and doesn't tip/wobble/or move when she jumps in it. I also ordered bedding, but there isn't much to choose from online. The tadpole's set looks decent online..but looks cheap in person. Not worth the money!! So I made my own. Used port-a-crib quilted sheets..and it looks beautiful. I do recommend getting the larger mattress b/c the one it comes with will rip/tear very easily and it's not too comfortable. I just altered crib bedding to fit the crib..by shortening the bumper length and sewing it..but you could always alter it alot easier by wrapping the bumper around the back of the crib and tieing it all tight..but it's always better to make sure everything is snug and has no wiggle room when it comes to bedding for a little baby. As for the skirt..I just tucked and made it look nice. I used a dark khaki colored sheet as a crib skirt to cover all the empty space you have under the crib when it's at it's highest point. (It was in my room so I wanted it to match my decor) But the higher space was nice for extra storage!! Over all...this product is amazing. Looks VERY exspensive, it's actual wood..and finished very nicely. And it's not tacky like all the other baby things now adays...LOVE IT!! Totally worth the money. Will be buying another one here soon!!! :)
We have very limited room in our nursery and this crib was perfect--not too big and not too small. It is adorable. The only complaint I could have is that the assembly was a little difficult, but for the price, we couldn't have asked for more!
Love it. Fits perfect, smaller, but not too small. The directions were horrible, putting it together was no so fun, but I am so glad we bought this crib!
i love this crib it was a great price. i took about two weeks to arrive and was not hard to put togather. the color is just want i wanted. can't wait to put my little girl in it.
THis crib is awesome. I was skeptical to get any sort of bargain priced furniture item at Walmart. I needed something to hold up well and it had to look good! I put this together on my own in 45 minutes-very easy just takes a lot of time because there are many screws. It is so so so sturdy and solid once put together which i wasn't expecting since my regular sized $400 crib is wobbley. I love the black-it is matte and not shiney so it doesn't look cheap and cheesy. Looks rich and surprisingly expensive. I needed it for space issues since we are in a 2 bedroom and my newborn is in our room, but ready to be out of a bassinet. Most importantly, after much research, i realized that this crib is the SAME EXACT crib from the SAME EXACT company as the Emily crib from B R Us, Target, etc. No kidding! Million Dollar baby is the grandfather company that makes this crib for higher end stores and for walmart under different company names and for much different prices. when this crib arrived, the box said "million dollar baby" so it has to be the same exact crib that costs 235 at places like target. don't be fooled! buy it here at walmart for less! the only difficult part of owning this crib was finding cute, unique bedding. you can find mini/portable crib bedding that works great, but it is plain and simple. the portable crib sheets sold at most baby stores fits best. i didn't want a plain colored bumper, so i put my cute pottery barn normal sized crib bumper on this crib and just had to wrap across the back on the outside of the crib an additional time but it is not noticeable at all. also, the matteress that comes with this crib is so thin so i would reccomend getting an additional mattress. a 2" mattress stacked on top of the 1" is what i did and it works great. plus, i added a portable crib waterproof quilted mattress pad that added some additional comfort. all in all, this whole set up far exceeded my expectations for owning a mini crib!!!!
We had it shipped to the store and it arrived ahead of schedule. It was very easy to set up. My husband hardly looked at the instructions. It fits perfectly in our nursery. I am so glad that we went with this instead of a full size crib. My only complaint is trying to find the conversion rails in Ebony. They are hard to find. We also purchased a different mattress because the one that comes with it is to thin. It is also difficult to find quality sheets for the mattress, I have found portable crib sheets at Baby Depot and BRU that work okay.
