This is a really great buy! It surpassed my expectations. The top/seat is a much nicer size than I thought it would be. The wood finish is great and the assembly was rather simple. It holds a good amount of toys and flows nicely with my playroom decor.

This toy chest does its job by storing and keeping my toddler's toys out of the way and out of sight. However, it did take a while to put together once it was shipped to my home and I believe that it could have been less expensive for the material it was made from. Nevertheless, my toddler loves using it and he takes pride in the fact that its his to store his precious toys and sit on it whenever he chooses.
This toy chest is sized for a very small child. The illustration and written directions together were hard to follow. Also, there were some missing parts, we used sticks instead of the missing wooden dowels. Overall, this seems to be sturdy and practical for a first year toy chest.
It's pretty small so if you are expecting to put a lot of toys in it then you will be unhappy. The color is nice, and it seems pretty sturdy for a child. If you are needing lots of storage space then I suggest you go with another larger box, make sure to look at the dimensions.
The chest is cute but we had to drill a couple of holes that were supposed to be there and one of the existing holes was stripped out. Also one of the screws had flash in it so it was not usable. Luckily my husband is a custom woodworker so he had the tools to improvise. Overall I like the way it looks but the manufacturer needs to take better care to make sure all holes are drilled and all pieces are adequate.
Although the toy chest is made of a pretty sturdy, heavy wood, it is small!! I know it's my fault for not checking the dimensions first, but the photo is slightly deceiving. This would be ideal for a nursery or very small child's room (maybe toys at Grandma's house). There is also a hinge to hold the lid open that is fairly large and will further get in the way of storage (and it doesn't hold the lid open completely). I bought this for my 6 year old and it is WAY too small for his toys. Easy assembly, better quality than a lot of assemble-yourself furniture, just make sure the size is right for you!
The lid does not go all the way to the sides, like pictured. Also the lid doesn't not open that much. Directions are very diffcult to follow. I had to take apart and put back together a couple of times because the directions don't explain.
I bought this to store some of my grandkids less used toys in, but was very disappointed. When I received it some of the screws were missing and one of the hinges was broke. The instructions were not clear at all. Also, the safety latch to keep the lid open doesn't do a very good job and has very short screws holding the wood piece that it attaches too. It pulled loose when I was opening the lid. Fortunately I had some longer screws and was able to reattache it. Overall not a very good product.
This product does not come with easy to use directions and once i figured out what was going on and got the pieces put together they would not stay together. The product was very pretty in the picture but no matter what i did it would not stay together so i ended up taking back the product and ordering a little tikes toy box.
