The butcher block is very pretty. Can't wait to put conditioning oil on. I purchased this piece to cover an unused cooktop so I will have more work area. This really make this a pretty work area. I would definitely purchase another piece. It's a heavy, beautiful piece.
this is truly beautiful ~ we bought the 19"" X 15"" to serve as a butcher block countertop for a cabinet next to our stove in a small area of our kitchen...there was just one thing that gave us pause & that was that the specs listed this as 1.25"" thick~ however the one we rec'vd was 1 1/8"" thick~ thankfully we were cutting down the legs on the cabinet & had the extra 1/8"" to spare (to bring this all level with the stovetop)... I did not detract anything from the rating for that, because in the end we are more than happy with how it came out...and besides most people are going to be buying this to use as a typical cutting board & I'm sure you will be more than pleased with the quality :-)
I needed a toy box for both my sons' toys. I know the dimensions are listed, I just thought from the picture it was going to be a little bigger. I carried the box out myself. The chest is nice and the color fits perfectly in the room. The price was very reasonable also. I would recommend this product, however, use a tape measure against something so you can see the size of the toy box.
I use it to cut vegetables, fruits, etc. on. It was a perfect size to fit in my cabinet.
for the price I paid for it I love it!! My 19 month old granddaughter does too! her toys were all over the place and now our house stays neat and it looks like a piece of furniture not just a toy box. I am not worried about her pinching her hands with it's because the lid stays up, and it is very easy for her to open it on her own. AMAZING DEAL!!!
This product is great. Matches the cherry furniture we already had. Two downsides. It would be nice if it was a little bigger. It is a good size, but not huge. And the lid doesn't open all the way. The latch only allows it to open about 3/4 of the way, which is annoying, but not too bad. But I like this product for the money I spent for it.
I bought this chest through site to store and was expecting it to be a little larger. That wasn't too disappointing, but I didn't open it up and check the product in the store. I waited until I had it home. That's when I discovered that there was massive damage to the product. It was scuffed, scraped, and dented on nearly all of the corners. There were cracks where the wood had split coming out of the screw holes (before I touched them with a screw at all). I put it together anyway. The wood was pretty sturdy and the color I liked, plus I have 3 kids, so the corners weren't a huge deal. Then, I screwed in the safety spring latch that keeps the lid from dropping onto your fingers or head when it is open, and when I went to close it, it pulled part of the wood off the underside of the lid! Yikes! I wouldn't purchase this again.
This chest is good for the low price. However it is very small and the latch that holds open the top doesn't go very high. I removed it. The wood is high quality but the price speaks for itself. I suggest you save a little more and buy a chest you will not have to upgrade later. You get what you pay for on this one.
My mother gave me the money to buy my son a toy box for his first birthday. I fell in love with this one online and had to have it. When my husband put it together it is alot smaller than they make it look, but that was not what disapointed me most. Once you install the safety hindge the lid only opens about halfway. and if the toy box gets shaken in the tiniest bit the lid comes down. Also the first day we had it my son opened it and couldn't get it opened far enough to get the toy he wanted. So he pushed up on the lid. The peice of wood that you affix the safety hindge to was only attached by glue ant two screws that barely even went into the wood. My one year old was able to rip that piece of wood off by just pushing on the lid. I deffinately would not recommend this product.
I ordered this as a gift and come to find out that one of the pieces is defective and that a couple of the pieces were damaged in the ship to store. We are currently waiting on the manufacturer to see if they will send replacement pieces, but I am so frusterated with this product.
