[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids use Banana Boat Kids Sport while playing baseball. We like the SPF protection it offers and that it stays on, even during hot days when the kids sweat. Also, the spray is very convenient and easy to apply!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great sunscreen spray for my kids. I spray it 15 min before sun exposure and my kids are protected against sun burns. Very light on skin and does not leave any residue. It is water resistant and I like that the bottle can be locked after each use. And the bottle is of a great size and easily stored in any bag.
My kids tend to be in the water a lot, maybe even more than me. They sweat hard because they play HARD and they tend to like simple sunscreen solutions - so sprays work. Banana Boat Sport For Kids Sunscreen Lotion Spray is the one I have taken everywhere this summer. We have been on numerous road trips and big adventures together as a family and are about to send one child off to camp. This has been the spray that I have reached for consistently and used everywhere. When we hit the road for our first official road trip of the summer we brought this Banana Boat Sport for Kids spray. The weather was outstanding and the activities were endless outside. Much of that revolved around water. Swimming, sliding down waterslides. Being outdoors in the summer means taking extra care with skin. One ounce of sunscreen should be applied daily, 30 minutes before going outside and needs to be reapplied every two hours or immediately after swimming, sweating or towelling off. Both the kids and I like this product for its ease of use. It goes on easily without needing to rub it in. Kids hate the rubbing in part sometimes when sand gets mixed with lotion so this works wonderfully. Also the fact that sand brushes off this formula easily makes me happy too. I don't go anywhere in summer without a sunscreen that has an SPF of 30 plus for myself and 50 plus for the girls. My older daughter has fair skin and she can burn easily. Younger daughter has much darker skin and is 13 so she tends to not understand longterm consequences of protecting her skin from sun damage. Sometimes that still means me chasing the child around and spraying quickly while she is still. This product is ideal for teens and tweens. It works well, stays on and is easy to apply.
I have been using this on my children all summer. When they play outside, go to the beach etc. I love how it sprays on easily and covers completely. The pleasant scent is nice and my children have been burn free. I found it sprays on a bit thick but has good coverage. When sweating and swimming it is good. I rarely burn and I also rarely use sunscreen. I put coppertone lotion on my face but went for the more convenient spray every where else. I reapplied 4 times in 4 and a half hours. My face is the only place not burned. Not only did I burn but this is the first sunburn I have ever had that hurts. Normally Id pink then itd fade. I am fried.
I bought this product for me and my family yesterday for our zoo trip and it was a bad experience from the moment I sprayed it into my hand. The lotion bubbled up at the top and leaked out. I could not get the spraying mechanism to actually spray. On top of that, 2 out of my 3 kids, broke out in a rash everywhere I applied the lotion. They generally do not have sensitive skin but something in the lotion has caused a reaction. I hope anyone else that uses this product has a better experience than we did.
I have used banana boat for years - first time using this version. I applied as per instructions and re applied every hour. My kids and I got terribly burnt ! Do not buy this product. If I had of read the reviews of this before buying I would have gone with something else - why is still on shelves if people are frying ?? Ps. Use by date is 2025. So its not that ! Pps. It also clumped when applying and had lumps on it. What's up with that???
I bought some Banana Boat Kids Sport w/ Powerstay technology sunscreen for myself and my kids to use at the pool this summer. Yesterday I used the sunscreen at the water park, applying the starting layer and reapplying every hour (supposed to be good for 80 min) I could have won a mom blog competition with how much I was reapplying and my kids and I still got burned to a crisp. Please find another product.
My husband and kids Just went to the beach last week and bought a twin pack. I did everything I was supposed to do applied more than once because my kids are very very fair skin so I had to constantly apply it. My oldest son out ever got the worst part his eyes were swollen shut even after I applied both the bottles on him for only 3 days. I just got back from the hospital this morning. My son is autistic and he is Very miserable I guess I will go back to using copper tone.
