I burn real easy (redhead) and I LOVE this sunscreen. It definitely is thick and makes you pasty but it's been the most reliable sunscreen. I re-apply early as I burn easily but even with early re-application, other sunscreens don't protect me nearly as well. I'm happy it's now reef safe too! Do note, if you're sensitive to textures the thickness of the sunscreen may throw you off. It also just smells like sunscreen- nothing special.
Applied this twice during golf and applied a LOT. Morning golf, done by 11:15 am and I still feel like my forearms are on fire and burnt. I do not burn easily, AT ALL, so this makes me wonder if the sunscreen did anything at all.
So far I have not had any sunburns while using this sunscreen, but it smells so bad and is so greasy. I took a walk and came home with grass stuck all over me because of how sticky this product is. When you take a shower, you struggle to even wash it off fully.
SPF50+ and 30 both are useless products, not effective. Burned in 2 hrs.
After a lifetime of sunscreen use (I am 49 years old and a public health professional), I was shocked to burn while using product as directed. On the same day, I did not burn in areas of my body where I was using a different brand. Checked expiration date (of course) but that was not the problem.
So thick it locks in your sweat, so you lose a lot of natural cooling from sweating. The fragrance they chose for this product is just awful. Will not be buying this again.
All week in Jamaica I've been using sunblock. Today I opened the banana Boat one and my husband and I applied it multiple times throughout the day. We are burnt to a crisp! Never once got burned using the other brands the past 6 days. Very disturbing.
Used this on my arms and legs got sunburned after only one hour in Palm Springs in 75 degrees weather. I used Neutrogena facial sunscreen 30 on my face and it protected me 9n same day. Never buy Banana Boat again. Date March 15 ,2023
Doesn't work. Was really hoping for good things based on the claims the sunscreen makes but I still got burnt within 30 minutes of being in the sun. Lowkey embarrassing how bad Banana Boat got this (for them, not me).
Applied liberally but still got burnt so badly after 1+ hour in the sea. Doesn't seem to be waterproof at all!
