Great experience! I ordered the black shoe online and it arrived days later with no shipping charged. I had ordered a similar shoe before and knew to order a half size larger than my normal dress shoe. Perfect fit. So comfortable I ordered the same shoe in brown.
My feet have very little padding. It has always been difficult to find comfortable walking shoes. That is until I discovered the New Balance men's 928 walking shoe. I walk five to six miles a day on the job and my feet are pain free!
I have large, extra wide feet and the New Balance 928v3 are one of the very few shoes that fit my feet. Not only that but I suffer from chemo induced neuropathy in my feet and these shoes help stabilize my feet as I walk. Thank you New Balance for continuing to make x-wide shoes like the 928v3! Now, how making a insulated snow boot that comes in wide, extra wide and extra-extra wide widths?
I just purchased these 928v3 lace up walking shoes before taking a vacation where I would be doing a lot of walking on city sidewalks. The shoes are very comfortable. The soles are well cushioned and the interior of the shoe is comfortable. They are great for doing a lot of walking.
I've been using this model of show for years for my ankle foot orthotic. Works perfectly. They hold up extremely well over time!
These are well made shoes that last years and years with proper care. With my wide, short feet, they are also one of the few shoes that fit me. I am hopeful that New Balance will continue making these fine long lasting shoes for a long time to come.
Excellent. Would like same shoe with a different sole. The soles on these shoes are like skis, and they get very slippery depending on the surface. After a few months, they get downright slick. So, add a more hiking like style or similar sole option. Also, the shoe tounges alway stab me on the top of my foot. Too short or too long.
I've been wearing this model for as long as I can remember. I'm a big guy, 6'3" 400 lbs, and need both the stability and roll protection. I was recommended these shoes by my foot doctor way back when and have worn them ever since. I've had several V1 and V2 models over the years. I'm currently on my 4th V3 pair. The V3 was changed slightly from the earlier versions and it made the shoe a bit less comfortable to wear for me. My outside toes rub a bit until the leather softens. I also ended up adding a set of $40 New Balance metatarsal insoles to correct the shoes feel. However the worst was when the mesh version was removed from the line. I live in the southern US and an all leather shoe is just not fun to wear all year long. I can live with all white or ugly brown as the only colors (FYI! New Balance exec's, not everyone who buys these shoes are in their 80's). Yes I'd like other options sure, but the mesh was a vast improvement on the design and with today's material and weaving technology should be doable in a stability shoe. I also agree with other reviews and feel that the sole wears out faster on this model, especially in the read outside corner for me. I'm sure this is because I roll my feet, which the shoe fights against, but it's also due to the way the sole is designed. The designers added an insert section in the rear of the sole leaving a narrow strip of outer sole along the edge. This strip always rips off at some point signalling the end of the life of the shoe. The uppers always outlast the soles by a good margin. If you need a shoe like this then buy it. this is as good as I've found for my situation. Maybe someday they will improve on the decades old styling and options. I can't wear the marshmallow soled running shoes they are always coming out with so I hope someday someone at New Balance will want to help us "old walkers" catch up with looks and design of the "cool kid" runners.
I know these are described as walking shoes, but I found them heavy and stiff for my purposes. Full disclosure, I have feet that have been surgically altered and present myriad problems that most Shoes cannot address. It has been my experience for decades that New Balance has been the go to shoe for me. Not this set, however.
The insoles are extremely bad quality and had to replace them. With the shoes being so expensive, this is not acceptable. The shoe is very heavy and are hard to walk in.
