I knew of these from restaurants...made terrific salmon for my wife on Valentine's Day. Soak plank for @ an hour w/sea salt,etc. in water. Use whole fillet w/or w/out skin but don't turn. Set plank w/indirect med. heat below for @ 20 min, turn plank another 15-20 min. This was on 1.5-2lb salmon. Used terriyaki, lemon, spices of choice. Wife & friends loved! Great price compared to Bed, Bath, Bey. & others for name brand cedar planks. Soak, clean w/soap, brush soon after use & get couple uses on each board for few dollars each!!!

Got 3 good uses out of these, large planks too so held almost 2 lbs of salmon each. Nice smoky flavor. Really a pleasantly surprising value for the price! Will definitely buy again.
Used one of these and not sure if it does anything. Especially on a grill that does not cook well indirectly or slowly.
