This product brings back many happy memories of when I received my first doll from Santa way back in 1963. I passed that doll on to a couple of nieces to play with. That doll has since been lost. I am very happy to have a doll again. It is very much like the one I had as a child. Thank you for bringing her back again. :-)
very pleased with doll. Back in 1959, my Mom wouldn't buy me a Barbie. Thought they were too expensive ($5.00) and ugly dolls. so 50 years later I bought my own and paid alot more than $5.00, but it is worth it. Will pass on to my 8 month old granddaughter when she gets older.
I was not fortunate enough to own the original Barbie, and so it was wonderful to have a "second chance" to own such a great recreation of this style of Barbie. The fashion included with it is faithfully recreated, the doll even is styled with the special stand for her, as only the very first Barbie had. I highly recommend this doll for any new collector, or someone who wants fine quality and reproduction dolls that are just perfect for all! The packaging is super, you would almost be tempted to leave her in the box she comes in, but do take her out, enjoy and relive the memories of Barbie.
This Barbie brings back many happy childhood-day remembrances! Mine was very similar to this one and the new one has very similar, albeit not all the same, features. I am keeping it for me and don't plan to take the doll or the clothes out of the box....just to keep more of it's value over time. Makes a great display if you have a doll collection or plan to start one.
I was so thrilled when I received the 50th Anniversary Original Barbie Doll. She is beautiful and I plan on handing down this particular Barbie along with the whole 6th Series to my granddaughter as keepsakes. What a wonderful idea to replicate these Barbies.
I am just a few weeks older than her, & treated myself to the replica for my 50th b'day. I have had a great time bidding on outfits on Ebay, and she's always stylishly turned out. What a great idea to recreate the classic Barbies for her 50th anniversary--she's just beautiful, and it's great to relive all the fun I had decking her out when I was a kid (my family looks slightly askance at me, but I just ignore 'em!).
Barbie's replica 50th anniversary doll is as close to the original as you're going to get. It isn't made as strongly as the original but most things today aren't. The only dislike is the dangling gold earrings. They were not what the original wore. But overall, it's a good buy.

When I was eight years old, Barbie was "born". She was fabulous! She had style, charm, and grace. Barbie had the most beautiful clothes and accessories to match. She had shoes, gloves, purses and hats. Her occupations changed with every outfit she wore. She went to parties and summer BBQ's. But alas, she was always alone until "he" came along, Ken, and his handsome friends. She had friends too! Together, everyone had the most wonderful time and made the best memories of every girl's childhood who owned this beautiful doll! When I married, I thought I was to old to have dolls, so I gave all of mine, including Barbie, whom I had taken so very good care of, to the little girl next door. Within one week she had removed every head from every doll, including Barbie. I was furious! It still saddens me to this day! So, I bought me another Barbie and this time I am keeping her no matter how old I get.
The first to include reproduction of a #1 two prong pedestal stand! Best box design for collectors so far and the doll and fashion are displayed very nicely. Hey Mattel, how about a brunette #1 with Gai Parisienne, Easter Parade and Roman Holiday! In the great new box design.....
