I wish that I had purchased this years ago. It works like a charm. No more bringing a ladder into the house to change those bulbs ceiling height. I have 12 foot ceilings and when a bub went out, it stayed out until I got the energy to get out the ladder.
I am vertically challenged (short) and hate climbing to change light bulbs. This device makes it child's play. Wish I had thought to look for it sooner.
I had my doubts this would work out before I bought it but decided to take a chance. It works perfectly for short people like myself.
I bought the light bulb changing kit because my parents have a yard light that is about 20 ft. I was afraid for my dad to climb on the ladder so i purchased it. I was skeptical but bought it anyway, I was disparate because I could not find someone to do it. Well, let me tell you this kit worked great. I thought the bulb would come loose from the grabbing device but it never did. It's very strong and sturdy, did not bend or break. The length that it extends is perfect. I used the large grabbing device. Great peace of mind because, I don't have to wait for someone to do it for me.
Used it on high ceiling flood lights. Was able to take out the large flood light 75W bulbs with the large grasping attachment, and put in the eco bulbs (with twist shape) without much difficulty, using smaller grasphing attachment. Much easier than using a ladder :).
I confess, I was leery about this item when I bought it to change a bulb in a can light in the ceiling. However, that silicon disc attachment worked perfectly to remove the burned out bulb and then to replace it with a new one. It worked so well that I then headed outside with the "spring wire cage" attachment to remove a high-up flood light with a big cactus patch underneath it. It was a trial and error struggle to get the cage over the larger sized PAR38 floodlight, but I managed to do so after a few minutes and then easily removed the burned out bulb. Probably would be so much easier to do with smaller sized floodlights and/or a fixture that doesn't allow you to move the position of the lights. Then, putting in the new floodlight went well, but dislodging the wire cage was another struggle. Eventually, the pole pulled off of the cage, leaving the cage dangling on the bulb. In the end, I duct taped a hook to the pole, tugged at the spring wire cage, got it released from the bulb, and then all was fine, including the pole and attachments. Overall, I'm delighted I bought this item as it works, sometimes with a little extra effort, for hard to reach bulbs. It saved me oodles of money compared to paying an acrobatic handyman with no fear of heights and cactus.
The price is very good for this item. For now, I only use two of them, those two parts at the top of picture, very handy, you can reach 11' ceiling with a step ladder easily. Only thing to watch out is to make sure you secure bulb in the cup before install.
I have LED Bulbs (spiral type shape) that are not one solid piece type bulb. They have grooves (in between the spiral shape) and the tool cannot "grab" the light bulb and twist it to loosen it. This changer only works with the newer type LED bulbs that look like the old light bulbs.
will not hold, no matter how much I turn it in the direction the instructions say. If the telescope or extensions will not stay extended when grabbing the light, the end cannot grab the light with any torque to unscrew or screw the bulb in.
I hated this item I spent almost 1 hour trying to get the lightbulb out of the ceiling then sent another almost hour trying to get the new lightbulb into the ceiling which did not happen I had to ask a neighbor to come over and get on a ladder and do it for me I hate this item it didntI hated this item I spent almost 1 hour trying to get the lightbulb out of the ceiling then sent another almost hour trying to get the new lightbulb into the ceiling which did not happen I had to ask a neighbor to come over and get on the ladder and do it for me I hate this item it didnt work like it was supposed to
