This latex pillow is different from most which people are used to. The pillow comes with a thin cover which is more of a cover to protect the integrity of the pillow. It's not really a pillow cover. I bought separate covers. I bought the same pillow some years ago & as all pillows do over time, mine broke down & it was time to buy a new one. This pillow is firm & would be well suited for the heavy person or person with broad shoulders. It is not a flimsy pillow like traditional cotton pillows so it doesn't "wad up" at all. Don't expect to crunch this pillow into a ball. The material just won't allow for manipulation of it. It holds its form for years! I literally only replaced my last one due to the fact that the material started to break down & got crummy. This pillow does not allow for bed bugs & does not smell bad over time. It has little holes for ventilation which you cannot feel when laying on the pillow. I think this is the best pillow I've ever used & I've found it to be very supportive.
Let me preface this by saying that I *NEVER* thought I would spend this much on a pillow. Instead, I bought the $3 pillows and threw them out every 6 months or so because they'd be completely flat. It's been about 6 years since I got my latex pillows and they are the same now as when I bought them. They're actually going to save me money in the long run, even being as expensive as they are. In addition to the above, they are head and shoulders above (no pun intended) any other pillow I've tried. It's like laying your head down on a cloud of heaven. There's no waiting for the thing to warm up before it contours to your head like memory foam. There are no lumpy areas or hard spots like traditional pillows. It's not excessively hard like so many pillows are. I frankly do not understand why they are not more popular as they are the best type of pillow made. This specific pillow is a mid-loft type and would work for a back or side sleeper. If you're one of those weird stomach sleepers, you want something with a lower loft. (Habitat Furnishings has a perfect one for you; I returned it because it was too low for me, being a side sleeper.) Latex is a different feel, being springy and almost bouncy, but it's unbeatable once you get used to it. It's also not hot like memory foam. I now sleep on an all-latex mattress and no longer have to take prescriptions for joint pain as it all went away when I got my bed. Another benefit is that it's all-natural - basically, whipped and cooked tree sap. There are a plethora of chemicals in other types of foam, many of which the government admits they don't know what effect expose has on humans. You really cannot beat the comfort, longevity, or price of this pillow. WalMart made the buying process easy and easily beat the next lower retailer. I was a bit hesitant to order, never having bought from walmart.com before, but it was smooth and simple. I have spent over twice as much on another latex pillow in the past, but this one feels identical. (I bought it for my father and tested it before giving it to him.) If anything happens to my beloved latex pillows, I am coming back here to order replacements.
Neck at the perfect height for back and side sleeping. Ive used latex pillows for over 30 years and am fussy with the brand. In Australia I'd pay over $100 for one pillow so these seemed too good to be true! Thought I'd give these a go as I could easily return to Walmart if they were no good. Tried them with the plastic and all seemed good so popped on a pillowcase and tried overnight. What a fantastic sleep! Didn't realize how much my old latex pillows had degraded. These felt like sleeping on a bounce house but in a good way. Firm but springy. Slight smell for the first few nights but not enough to bother me. Could easily be aired out. Wish they did a smaller height for my young kids as I'd buy them all a couple too!
This is one of the best pillows I have ever used. I have been using latex pillows for years and would never use anything else. When this pillow arrived from Walmart.com I did find it odd that the pillow was in a plain plastic bag and a photo copy of the label.....

Latex foam pillows are the only ones I'll use anymore!! They are always soft (unlike memory foam which feels like a rock once they compress under your head) and the latex foam always bounces back immediately. My last one lasted 10 yrs. and would have kept going, except it met the fate of a 6 mo. old puppy!! :P
I am very picky about my pillows as I am sure many others are too. I had a foam pillow as a child and I have been trying to replace it for several years with no luck. I am 46 years old. I have tried the memory foam pillows and I did not like them at all. They seem hard to me. I tried pillows labeled firm and they were not comfortable. The soft ones offer no support. My mom even bought some high end more expensive pillows from HSN and I found them to be too hard or too thick. I had read many reviews on this pillow about how others like me have been searching for that foam pillow like from their childhood and they liked it. I figured I needed to try. My childhood pillow will not last my lifetime. The very first night I got it I slept through the night. I was worried at first it might hurt my neck, but it didn't. I have had it about two weeks now and I just love it. I sleep so good at night. I finally found the one that is just right for me. I have read that some people find that there is an odor to the pillow. I smelled a small latex odor the first day, I let it air out that day, slept on it that night. The smell never bothered me. I did not smell anything once I put the pillowcase on. I love this pillow and I would definitely recommend it to others. I probably need to buy another one just in case. Thank-you Simmons Beautyrest!
Moderately firm at best but the most disappointing aspect was the size. It was certainly long enough but it was much narrower than a standard pillow. By narrower I mean that when it's on the bed the measurement from front to back is 4" too small. That is significant because the pillow swims in a normal pillowcase. When you lay down it kind of runs away from you and your left laying on a lot of excess pillowcase. I can only surmise they wanted to save money by making is smaller than a standard pillow.
Love the latex pillow however the size description on the site is not accurate. Standard Pillow size states , (Standard size measures: 18 inches x 26 inches) . When I received the pillow it appeared small so I took out my measuring tape and found that the dimensions are: 22 3/4 inches x 15 1/2 inches! . Buyer Beware ! I will exchange for queen size .
It would be excellent pillow if size was right. I ordered king size. Cover seems right size but filling is several inches short. Had to return.
