I have to say, I had a good laugh the night I picked this product. I am an avid fan of watching Shark Tank on TV. And the same night I chose this, later that night they had the episode from 2012 of the two ladies who went before the Shark Tank to get someone to invest in their idea. I liked it before it ever got here. The material is very good, it fit over the mattress perfectly. Although it is a snug fit, I have no problem with that, and the zipper at the bottom of the mattress is also well made. It almost has the feel of a fitted sheet. Smooth and comfortable and I didn't have any problem sleeping on the new mattress protector. It sure beats the vinyl cheap thing that I had on the bed. It is waterproof, but I didn't want to pour water on it just to try it out. The mattress protector is also machine washable and I would suggest washing on a gentle cycle, take good care of the mattress protector and it should last a few years. It came with one pillow protector, which was fine with me, for I already had a protector on my other pillow. Although I do not have bed bugs in my house I put them down around the bed to see if anything was picked up in the traps and so far not a thing. I would definitely recommend this product it is definitely a must in my house. Its a shame they don't have mattress covers in nursing homes and hotels.
This product (BuggyBeds Mattress Protector, Pillow Protector and Monitor 6pc Set – Twin) is a must have for anyone that just recently purchased a new mattress or will in the near future. Protect your investment, whether or not you have bed bugs or think you may. It's a well known fact that your mattress practically doubles in weight over an 8-10 year period; due to those microscopic dust mites and yes perspiration/sweat. The material is very well manufactured and the latex type encasement will surely protect your mattress from staining and those occasional spills. Here are some interesting facts about dust mites: 1. Ten percent of that two-year pillow's weight you're using; is made of dust mites… this includes the dead ones too. 2. What is a comfortable home to over ten million dust mites? You guessed correctly...your bed: as well as over 2 ½ billion droppings. YUCK! 3. For all you arachnophobics' out there: dust mites are technically members of the spider family. Please don't allow this information to freak you out too much, we live in harmony each and every day with various forms of bacteria and microscopic creepy crawlies. I only mentioned this because it's interesting and if you're suffering from allergies; you definitely should make a small investment on a good quality mattress protector like this one. Really the best overall feature here is the enveloping peace of mind it brings me. Knowing my mattress is finally protected and will sustain its quality throughout the years is great! Since I've never suffered from bed bug infestations I will offer this advice: Although this mattress cover protects from bed bugs and dust mites, you cannot live in harmony with bed bugs so; if you have bed bugs this product will only protect your mattress and pillow, you'll still have an infestation that requires an expert. With that said however; the glue traps (included) would be a much welcome bonus if you suspect any bed bug infestations. I feel this product will do EXACTLY as advertised, “detect and protect” against bed bugs and dust mites yet again, I cannot stress enough that: it will not DESTROY nor ELIMINATE bed bugs. You must hire a professional for that one. This is my opinion only simply because, if you have them in your bed, they very well maybe in your carpets and elsewhere too. However, the glue traps would probably kill any and all bed bugs that it traps. I will be buying a mattress for my mother this year and without a doubt, the BuggyBeds Mattress Protector, Pillow Protector and Monitor 6pc Set – will also be in my cart! Bout this Had a few bed bug it worked wonders.... thanks buggy bedd.
I chose the BuggyBeds Mattress Protector, Pillow Protector and Monitor 6 piece Set in twin size for my daughter's bed. I only wanted it for the mattress protector because she received a brand new WHITE mattress and my daughter is only 6 years old and I wanted something to protect the mattress from her possibly coloring on it or wasting water/ juice on it. I do not think my daughter will get bed bugs but you never know. It was easy to put it, I did it by myself. I removed the mattress from the bed, I put the BuggyBeds Mattress Protector on the box spring and unzipped it (it only unzips half way), I put the mattress inside of the protector and pushed it inside. Once inside, the rest of the mattress was easy to tuck inside. It zips shut, and there is a flap that goes over the zipper. It was easy to put her begging back over the protector. The protector is not noisy so no one will ever know it is on. It come with 4 bed bug trays, but I did not use them, they are still in the box. It also comes with a pillow protector that I used under one of the pillow sham. I recommend the product, I have no complains. By the way, it is not made of plastic.
I ordered the bedbug glue trap & mattress protector because a Neighbor got bed bugs! She did the Wrong thing about it. In Chicago the bed bugs are a problem! My neighbor used a bed bug room fogger instead of letting the building manager know so she spread them to other apartments! My manager informed me what happened and did some preventative exterminating. So far so good! My son had bed bugs and they are so hard to get rid of. He finally did. The thing that helped him was the bed bug protector! He had his mistress treated and put the cover over it and had no more bugs on his bed even though the bugs were still in his living room until it was exterminated. This package also comes with detectors which lures abd detects the bugs. So far so good! I check them every now and then no bugs! The set also has a pillow protector. The mattress protector is fairly easy to put on. Make sure you have someone to help you. It slipped on and zips and Velcro's.I do have a small problem with it though. It is a little slippery. If you put silky sheet over the cover they will slip right off. Cotton or sheets that are not slippery will stay on.
I received the BuggyBeds queen combo pack to review. The package comes with a queen size mattress encasement and 1 pillow encasement; in addition, there are “non-toxic” bed bug glue traps. Both the mattress and pillow covers have zippers. From the start, for someone with a queen size bed, I have two pillows. Now, I'm stuck with buying another case for the other pillow. If you're using pillow and mattress protectors, you must cover everything there is! Otherwise, the bed bugs can travel to areas that are not covered! Fortunately, I don't have bed bugs in the house. The mattress cover is not difficult to go over the mattress if you can lift the mattress yourself. If you can't, you will need another person to help you. The covers are all washable. I washed them before using them and it didn't ruin their shapes. You also need to put sheets and pillow cases on top of the mattress and pillow, respectively. Otherwise, you will be sleeping on scratchy surfaces. The bed bug glue traps are supposedly non-toxic and will attract other insects such as ants in addition to the bedbugs. I did not put it near my bed for fear that it will attract bugs from elsewhere into my room. Overall, the mattress and pillow encasements are reasonable in terms of price if you're looking to prevent bed bug infestation!
Initially, I was disappointed. I thought a 6-piece set would include more than one mattress protector and one pillow protector, especially since the package boasts “Bonus pillow case.” The other four pieces are the four glue traps. I am a bit paranoid about bedbugs. At an old place, I got them from a roommate and the only true solution was to leave everything behind and nuke the place . If you ever had bedbugs, you know the nightmare they are. If you never had them, they are worse than what people say. With this, nowadays I always use mattress and pillow protectors. These BuggyBeds protectors are middle of the road quality. There are better ones in the same price range. The mattress protector seems smaller than 12 inches deep. It fit my 9-inch box-spring, but I'm doubtful it would fit my 12-inch mattress. Since it fit my box-spring and my mattress already has a cover, I left it on the box-spring. The pillowcase is for a standard size pillow, and fits a thinner pillow. As to the traps, I haven't used them. Thank god, I don't have bedbugs but I know of others in my apartment complex who have so I'm watching for them. Nevertheless, the words “lure” and “attracts” terrify me. The glue traps claim to “lures and detects bedbugs,” and “attracts & traps bedbugs, ants and other insects." Why would I want to lure or attract any insects into my apartment if they aren't here? And if glue traps were that effective, then bedbugs would only be a nuisance, not a leave-everything-behind-and-move problem. I'll keep the traps and hope I never need them.
I chose to review this mattress protector because I live in an apartment complex where each building has 5 units. According to the State of Maine, these apts. need to be inspected for bed bugs now. Having this type of mattress protector gives me more peace of mind. You may want to have a 2nd person when putting this on your mattress. The material is very sturdy too and the size is ample on a full size mattress. It's not baggy but not to tight that it would tear while fitting it on your mattress. I rated this a "Good" rating and in a way, I'm hoping I won't find out it is "Excellent"...because that would mean I have bed bugs. I do recommend this item for anyone living in a multiple family building.
I never had trouble with bugs until this year. I think it was because of the wet weather that we had this year. I had trouble with a number of species of bugs. One was a bedbug and the other most annoying was the ant. That is why I wanted to try this mattress cover. I liked this mattress cover. It looks so clean when you first see it, which puts you in a good frame of mind. It fit the bed great and it was easy to put on the bed. It also stayed in place well. It was easy to clean and I am going to buy some more for the other beds in my home. I appreciated the pillow cover that was added also. The repellent that was added, I am using. It seems to be keeping them down. I am very satisfied with this product.
These covers are garbage. This is expensive for such a cheap quality product. The underside of the meshing tears easily and it's not tightly "knit". The holes of the material itself are big enough for bed bugs to get through which defeats the whole purpose of what this product is supposed to do! I now have to purchase another mattress cover to put over this one. Don't waste your money on this.
